City Hall , Sept 12th, 1927
Pursuant to adjournment -of Sept. bth, the Board was called
to order at 7:00 o ' clock PM by President Boster;
Roll call Trustees present: Boster,Wharton, Mitchell, Shank, Harris.
The Clerk read a petition signed by a number of citizens
Discuss Li-ghting protesting against the entire cost 6fethe proposed Main Street
System cost lighting system being paid from the General Fund. This was foll—
owed by a general discussion between the Board and those present,
somer' for and a majority against the proposed measure.
On motion by Trustee Harris , seconded by Trustee Shank
Bids deferred . action on bids for the improvement of Main Street lighting was
deferred until. the regular meeting October 3rd, 1927.
On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank
demands paid demands numbered-8385 to 9393 were approved and ordered paid-."..
The application of Clyde F Tetter of Long Beach to operate

Ord. # 309 At this time the Clerk gave Ordinance No 309 its first
first reading reading.
J K McDonald addressed the Board relative to signs at the

On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Mitchell
Sign contract the President of the Board was authorized to sign contract
with Co. of 0. with the County of Orange, Health;-department for the year.
Health Dept. Sept 7th, 1927 to Sept 7th, 1929.
On motion by Trustee Shank seconded by Trustee Wharton the
superintendent of Streets was authorized to employ C F Cooley
C F Cooley wages at 75 cents per hour and the City Engineer was authorized to
transfer the name and time of Webster McNelly (Clerk in the
McNelly to pay— Engineering Deit) to the general office pay roll at. the salary
roll of $150 per month.
There being no further business to come before the Board
on motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank the Board
adjourned.
