Councilmen present: Boster , Andrews, Mitchell, Shank, Harris. :'Roll call absent None ( Councilman Shank arriving at 7:40 PM) The Clerk read the minutes for the month of December. On motion Minutes read by Harris seconded by Shank same were approved as read. 9 On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell demands numbered Demands paid 9145 to 9230 were approved and ordered paid. The Clerk read a letter from Dr. V G Presson advising the Resigrkation of Board of his resignation from the County Health Department and Dr V G Presson thanking the Board for its past cooperation and stating that Dr K H Southerland had been appointed as his successor. Letter from Engineer Berry of the Huntington Beach High Parking in front School relative to auto parking space in front of the sdhool of High School buildings was referred to the City Attorney to investigate and report back at next meeting of the Board. Request of the Associated Oil Company for the Board' s Anproves permits approval of certain permits being assigned by the Miley Keck Oil Associated Oil Co. Co was on motion by Mitchell seconded by Shank approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign permit. The Clerk read a petition signed by a number of. grovery Closing. of grocery store and meat shop operators requesting the Board to pass an stores referred to Ordinance requiring all grocer-t stores to remain closed Sundays. Attorney On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell the matter was referred to the City Attorney to analyze and report findings at next 1 meeting. On motion 'by Mitchell seconded by Shank the Surety Bond of Bond approved S E Talbert house mover was approved and ordered filed. The Clerk gave Ordinance No 312 regulating street excavatiLons. Ord # 312 passed its second and last reading and on motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell same was passed and adopted by the.:following vote: Ayes Councilmen Andrews, Mitchell , Shank, Harris, Boster Noes None. Ord #313 first Ordinance No 313 was given its .first reading by the Clerk - readin- at this time. Cancel permit On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell the Mayor was for gas pipe line authorized to sign cancellation of crossing permit for gas pipe line permit under the property of the S P Ry at Hartford Street. License renewed On motion by Mitchell seconded by Andrews the application (Pool Pall) of W H Griffin for reneNjal of pool hall license at 118 Main St. was approved. The Clerk read monthly reports of City Clerk, Treasurer, Monthly reports Engineer, Chief of Police and Police Judge and on motion by Harris seconded by Shank same were approved as read. On motion by Harris seconded by Kitchell the controller Honor bills to was authorized to honor bills to an amount not exceeding $200 w200-Fire Dept / per year for the benefit of the Volunteer Fire Department to promote interest in that, department. On motion7by Harris seconded by Shank the Street Supt. Move buildings was authorized and directed to move all buildings and material from old city yard. from the old city yard at 1st and Olive to new yard and use to Dog pound best advantage, also to construct dog pound in new city yard. The Chief of Police was, on motion by Harris seconded by Police day off Shank authorized to allow each policeman and traffic officer off one day in each week commencing this date. t Discuss moving The matter of moving radio tower from Wardwell ' s shop to the Ocean front was on motion by i:1itchell seconded by Andrews radio tourer referred to the City Engineer for redommendations at next meeting. Christmas trees The park commission recommended transplanting two Christmas in Pstm trees in the Main Street Park. rk Adjourned On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell the Board adjourned to 7 PM Monday January 16th, 1928.
