The meeting was called to order at 1000 o' clock AM,

by Councilman Conrad acting as chairman of the Board of
Equalization. . a
Members present: Butcher, Mitchell Conrad,
Members absent Bowen,Harris `
The clerk presented and read protests of J Paul Getty and
George F Getty against the assessors valuation placed on
various properties listed below. Mr. 0 0 Lind,t�ax agent for
George F and Paul Getty appeared before the Board and
called their attention to the written-protests. "
Mrs Ed Stevens appekled to the Board for reduction
in assessed . valuation of lots 6,7 and B, Block 107.
Mrs May S Jackson addressed the Board and protested
the assessed valuation _.placed on lot and building,, lot
5 Block 204, also buildings located on lots 43 and 44
block 706.
Mr 0 C Reeder protested against the assessment lavied
against lots 45 and 46 Block 7o6,
Mr D Zeronnian protested. against the asslssed .valuation
placed. on buildings located on 10ts 28 and 30, Block e13.
All protestants were informed by the chair that an
of the various properties
i4opection/would be made and a decision rendered at an
adjourned meeting of the Board to be .held at 7;00 otolock PM
this date..
On motion by Butcher seconded by Mitchel' the Board
adjourned until 7:00 o 'clock PM,Monday August 13th,1928

Board was _again called to order at 7:00 o'clock PM by chairman
Conrad: Members present: Conrad,Butchsr,Mit0hell
Members abselt Bowen,Harris
'Mr. John Whitfield addressed the Board relative to assesssed
valuations placed on Ocean front lots lst to 23rd street and
asked that a reduction in assessed values be made for the reason
that the $300,000e`00 bond issue for' the improvement of Ocean
Avenue was being reduced at the rate of, $1 ,000,00 per year with
a consequent reduction of $750 in interest on the bonds. That
Oceanfront lots .were increased approximately $800,00 per
lot. at the time of the improvement,;year 1923, and that at this
...time four years have elapsed, , .
On motion by Butcher, seconded by Mitchell, the assessor was
directed to reduce the assessed. valuation lf. each and every
lo$ from ist street to 8th street,fronting on Ocean avenue in
the amount of $160,00. Motion put and carried,

the/value of improvements on .lots 28 and 30 Block 813 . was
reduced from 0700 to $380, and improvements on lots 43 and 44.
Block 706 from $1,600,00 to $1,100
The requests for reduction by May S Jackfson,on lot and
building Lot 5, Block 204, 'and by 0 C Reeder for reduction
on improvements on lots 45 and 46, Block 706, were- on motion
by Butcher, seconded .by Ritchell, denied.'
On motion by .Butcher,seconded by Mitchell, .put and carried.,
the` request of- J Paul Getty for reduction .,of mineral right
assessed valuation on lots 18,20,22,24' B1k� 321; lots 17-,1 22
24 Blk 219; lots 13 and 1.5, Blk 421; lots 17,21;23 Blk 422
was denied,

George F Getty against the dity assessors valuation placed on the

lots 17,19121123 Blk 321 was over ruled and denied,
On motion by Butcher seconded by Mitchell, put and carried
the protest of FRED O'BRIEN ROYALTIES against the asseoorrs
assessment against kaga,11Ix mineral rights lots, 24;26,28 B1 420,;
lots 13,15,17 B1k, 118, and the protest of S S Wold and Tom Reed
Mining Company against the .assessor=s assessment against lots 21,23 ,
24 Blk 220,, were over ruled and denied.
There being no further businesa to come befole the Board,
on motion by Butcher seconded by Mitc] l . the , Board adjourned.
