Our only purpose in asking this, was for sanitary reasons. We object to the use of closed t-ents, cooking and housekeeping on our property for the reason that it is unsanitary and condusive to immorality. We do not want people to camp on our property. " "For some reason, unknown to us, the City Council did not pass the ordinance agreed upon. Not getting any action from the City we undertook to. prevent campiing and the use of closed tents. Last Saturday ( Sept 1st) acting under my orders, our men posted signs along the beach front , reading ' Closed Tents and "Camping prohibited on Beach ( signed) HUNTINGTON BEACH COMPANY. " Our men met imith opposition both from citizens and police. At 5:30 PM the police entered,. destr'oying and removing the signs and otherwise interfering.
