CITY HALL, Jan 14th, 1929.
Pursuant to. adjournment of Jan llth, the Council met at
7:30 PM.

Bowen absent Conrad In the absence of Mayor Bowen the Council appointed
made chairman. Councilman Conrad as chairman pro tem.
Councilmen present: Conrad, Butcher, Mitchell, Harris.
Councilman absent : Bowen.
G V Isom demand The City Engineer submitted, and the Clerk read a release
withdrawn signed by G V Isom in satisfaction of claim for damage to his car.
Petition to The Clerk read a letter signed. by George King and other oil
use city drains operators asking for. permission to use the City drains for carrying
for waste water of; waste water from wells. No action was taken other,-" than to
refer the matter to the City Engineer.
Recess At this time, 9:00 o ' clock PM the chair declared a recess.
Reconvened. The Council was again called to order at 9:00 o ' clock PM
by Mayor Bowen.
Councilmen present: Bowen, Butcher, Conrad, Mitchell , Harris.
Bids on lights The Clerk announced that this was the time set for awarding
donsidered. : bids for the construction of ornamental lights , sign and traffic
signal at the intersection- on Main Street and Ocean Avenue.
On motion by Contad, seconded. by Harris , all bids for the
All bids on construction of steel arches were rejected and the Clerk directed

February 4th, 1929. Following motion by Harris "That all bids
for the construction and installation of Neon sign be rejected

awarded Neon in the amount of 8649. 50 be accepted under the condition that the

which motion was seconded by Mitchell ,put and carried unanimously.
E D Bullard Cc On motion by Harris seconded by Butcher the contract for
Traffic Signal . installing traffic signal was awarded to E D Bullard�at their bid
