City Hall , April 8th, 1929.
. Pursuant to adjoi�nment of April lst, the Council was
called to order at 7: 30 PM by Mayor Bowen.
Councilmen present were Bortren, Butcher , Conrad., Mitchell ,
and Harris.
Mayor Bowen announced. that the first order of business
Main Street was a discussion concerning the proposed lighting of Main Street.
lighting After some discussion by the Council , Mayor Bowen invited those
in the audience, who were interested., to Make part in the dis-
course, whereupon a number of representatives of the various
lighting fixture dealers addressed the Council and signified
their approval of the Council ' s proposed method of securing
informatory bids.
1 On motion by Conrad seconded by Harris , the City Engineer
Engineer to was directed to prepare brief specifications and submit same to
call for the various dealers calling for sealed informatory bids for
pre-bids. furnishing the City with lighting standards and lighting iltits.
Standards and. units to be bid on separately. Motion put and.
carried unanimously.
Action on renewing Auto Cam lease with the Huntington
Auto Camp lease g p g
deferred Beach Company was deferred pending additional information from
the Huntington Beach Company.
Reso. 620 The Clerk read Resolution. No. 620 regulating bus stops ,
Bus stops and on motion by Harris seconded by Conrad Resolution No. 620
was passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes Councilmen Butcher, Conrad, Mitchell , Harris , Baen.
Noes Councilmen None
Absent Councilmen None.
Uniform Bldg. Engineer Rosson asked for additional time in which to make
Code recommendations concerning the adoption of a uniform building
code.
Ord. 324 The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 324 regulating the control of
Vicious dogs vicious dogs its decond and last reading, and on motion by
Conrad seconded. by Butcher , Ordinance No. 324 was passed and
adopted by the following vote:
Ayes Councilmen Butcher , Conrad, Mitchell , Harris , Bowen.
Noes Councilmen None
Absent Councilmen None.
Ord 325 the Clerk gave Ordinance No . 325, prohibiting the dis-
Distribution of tribution of circulars its second and last reading, and on
hand bills motion by Conrad seconded by Harris , Ordinance No. 325 was
passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes Councilmen Butcher , Conrad, Mitchell , Harris , Bowen.
Noes Councilmen None
Absent Councilmen None.
Ord. 326 changing The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 326 , changing the time of
time of meeting the regular meeting of the Council to 7: 30 PM.
RE- Pickering Engineer f�oasonls letter relative to application of
building Fred Pickering to erect second story over building at 218 and
220 5th street was referred back to Mr Rosson with instructions
` to confer with the fire chief, and act in accordance with
rulings of the State Fire Inspector.
Palladino lots Resolution authorizing the sale of lots 1 , 3 and 5 was
deferred until next meeting.
On motion by Harris seconded by Conrad. the Clerk was
Re-trimming instructed to advise Mr. Ames of the Boulevard Manor that the
Palms , Palm Ave. : Council does not agree .with his suggestion as to the manner of
trimming palms on Palm Avenue.
On motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell the apnlica.tion
Cafe & hotet of Mrs E M Bouslog to operate hotel at 116 Main street and that
permits of Amy Maher to conduct lunch room at 4-16 Ocean Avenue were
approved.

By and with the consent o.f the Council , Mayor Bowen
Harris on pier appointed Councilman Harris as a, committee of one to in-
repair committee vestigate the condition of the municipal pier and report
his findino's to the Council.
On motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell , the recommend-
Repair ation of the Engineer for repairing streets was laid on the
streets table. .
On motion by Conrad, seconded by Mitchell the City �.
Engineer was authorized and directed to proceed to repair
such streets as he may deem necessary.
Relighting Orange On motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell the City
Ave. 17th to 23rd. Engineer was authorized and instructed to repair standards
and light Orange Avenue from 17th to F3rd street.
Demands numbered 1174 to 1192 inclusive were approved
Demands and. ordered paid on motion by Harris seconded by Conrad.
On motion by Conrad seconded. by Harris the Council
Adjourned adjourned until Monday April 15th at 7: 30 Py.
