Councilmen present : Bowen, Butcher , Conrad, Mitchell " absent : Harris t> Minutes The Clerk. read. text of the minutes for the months of April and. May and on motion by Butcher seconded by Mitchell the minutes were approved, all members of the Council having received conies of same. License Ord The Clerk gave license ordinance No 327 its second. and No 327 final reading, and on motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell Ordinance .No 327 was passed and. adopted by the following vote: Ayes Councilmen: Butcher, Conrad, Mitchell, Bowen Noes Councilmen: None Absent It Harris Main Street On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher the Mayor was lights authorized to execute on behalf of the City, a contract with the Pacific Engineering and ' Construction Company for the CD installation of Ornamental lights on Main Street from Ocean. Ave to Mansion Avenue. On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher , put and. carried, the City Clerk was authorized to enter into agreement to run a. H B News one page advertisement in the Huntington Beach News under the same terms and condition as heretofore: namely one insertion in each and every two week periods commencing Thursday June 6th and to continue at the pleasure of the Council. On motion by Conrad. seconded by Butcher, put and. -carried , Dance Hall the City Attorney was directed to prepare an amendment to closing- hour ordinances so as to permit dance halls to remain open until 1:00 o ' clock AM on regular nights and. later on special nights under the supervision and authority of the Chief of Police. Bld.g Code Attorney Blodget announced that building code was not ready to submit. St repairs Engineer Rosson advised the Council that street repairs end grading was complete for the present . Palladino Palladino deed not yet ready for execution. The Clerk read a letter from fire chief Sargent recommending Tires for pneumatic tires for the large fire truck , whereupon the Clerk was fire truck directed to advertise for bids , on motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell. The Clerk read monthly reports of the City Engineer, Judge, { Reports Chief of Police , -Treasurer and Clerk and on motion by Conrad. seconded. by Rutcher same were accepted and ordered filed. Demands On motion by Mitchell seconded. by Conrad demands numbered 1312 to 1418 inclusive were approved and ordered paid.. H B Water Cc On motion by Conrad. seconded. by Butcher the Clerk was demand not nasped directed to communicate with the Huntington Beach hater Co concerning demarid"for repair of hydrants on East Side on account the Engineer' s objection to payment , it being in his opinion an improper charge. Blodget granted. On motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell Attorney Blodget leave of absence was granted leave of absence from, June 9th to 29th. r On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher the Council adjourned until 7: 30 PM, Monday June loth 1929.
