City Hall , Oct 28th, 1929
Pursuant to adjournment of Oct -:Irth, the Council was called to
order at 7;30 PM by Mayor Bowen.
Councilmen present; Bowen,Butcher ,Mitchell ,Harris.
Councilman absent; Conrad.
17th St. The Clerk read a, letter from the Huntington Beach Water Co .
} water- lime acknowledging receipt of a request of the Council to have the 17th
Street line repaired. The water company signified its willingness to
co-operate with the City Engineer and have the line renewed or repaired.
The Clerk read. a. letter from the Chamber of Commerce objecting to
hosquito the formation of a mosquito abatement district as proposed by the
action County Health Department. The Clerk was directed to write Dr Sutherland
deferred of the Health Dept and recommend that a. representative appear before the
Chamber of Commerce at its next meeting Monday Noon, Nov 4th, and
explain fully the proposed plan. Definite action by the Council
deferred to a later date.
The Orange County Builders Association presented. a proposed
Contractors resolution requiring that all contractors exhibit a State License before
license granting a. city license. This was referred, to the City Attorney and
City Engineer for their recommendations .
Local Band The Clerk was directed. to notify the local band master that its
Armistice Day services would not be required Armistice day.
Dairy License On motion by Butcher seconded by Harris the application of C M Hill
.for license to operate a, dairy products business at 031 Frankfort was
approved.
Parking time Action on the Business Miens ' Association for a time limit on
limit deferred parking along Main St and Walnut Ave was deferred.
Float Councilman Harris reported progress in securing float for the
t City on Armistice Day.
Demand. On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell demand No 20012 was
approved and ordered pps. d.
On motion . by Harris seconded. by Mitchell the City Engineer
Dangerous was directed to demolish part of a derrick known as the Sun Oil Cc
derrick derrick on Delaware Ave on account of same being a d.a.ngero-us structure.
Sell gas On motion by Mitchell seconded. by Harris the City Engineer was
lamo hosts authorized to sell not to exceed three (3) of the ga.s lamp -posts to
Mr T;,tlwood. of Westminister at $ 10. 00 each to be used. for church purposes .
Chas P Patton informed the Council that the interior of the
Paint Library library needed painting and. asked permission to exceed. the budget by
that amount. There were no obj edtiong.
On motion by Butcher seconded by Mitchell the Council adjourned..
