HomeMy WebLinkAbout1929-12-06 462 M I N U T E S City Hall Dec 6th, 1929 Pursuant to adjournment of Dec 2nd the Council was called to � order at 7:00 o ' clock p m by Mayor Bowen. Councilmen present: Bowen,Butcher ,Conra.d,Mitchell ,Harris. Willis H Warner , representing the Business Men' s Association, a.ddr�ssed the Council and asked that the City bear the eRpense of Re Street wiring and decorating lamp posts on Main street from Ocean Ave to decorations Orange Ave`, and llth street from Orange Ave to Olive Ave. The electrt fixtures , wire and connections to become property of the City for future use. The purpose df decorations to be for the Christmas season. On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher the City Engineer was authorized to purchase material and labor not in excess of $250.00 for t4is purpose , and to Oo-operate with Mr Varner in the installation of fixtures and lamp post decorations. Recess At this time 8:00 .p m the Chair declared. a recess for the purpose of informal discussion of pier repairs and extension. Council again-called to order..-at 9: 30 pm by Mayor Bowen, all members present. On motion by Harris seconded. by Conrad., the City Attorney was Bond Election directed to prepare the necessary resolutions. a.nd ordinances to call a, special election for the purpose of voting on a, bond issue amounting to $60 ,000. 00 for the pier repairs and $62,000.00 for pier extension. Bond. election to be called at an early date. Mayor Bowen, with the consent of the Council asked the Engineers , Vr Rosson and Berry to prepare and. present their recommendations for pier extension at next meeting of the Council.
