Councilmen present: Boiven ,Butcher ,Conrad,Harris ,nfitchell . Minutes On motion by Harris seconded. by Conrad the minutes of the' Council for the month of December were approved.. This being the date set by the Clerk and Council for Bids on opening and examining bids for furnishing the city fire dept. fire nose with 800 feet of fire hose , the Clerk opined and read the following bids : Eureka Fire Hose Mfg. " Water lines Engineer Rosson advised the Council that he had notified the 17th street Huntington Beach Water Co to proceed with repair and renewal of water mains under 17th street. Deed to 5 ft. Deed of Huntington Beach Co to City covering 5 foot strip strip on MairVst on either sideof parking in Main Street from 14th street to Mansion Ave was referred to Attorney Blodget. Planning The recommendation of the Chamber of Commerce that the Commission Council appoint a planning commission was referred to a. committee � composed of Butcher, Conrad and Mitchell to report at next meeting. The Clerk read a report signed by the Orange County Health Odor from department covering their investigation in the matter of dis- refineries agreeable odors coming from certain road oil plants in the vicinity of 17th and Delaware streets. The Clerk was -instructed to report the matter to Mr Anderson of n6 awafd Ave and. explain the action of the Supervisors and the Health Board. The Clerk read monthly reports of the City Treasurer, Clerk , / Reports Chief of Police, Police udge, and City Engineer , and on motion by Harris seconded by Conrad same were accepted and ordered. filed. On motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell the Clerk was Ordinance Book authorized to order the Huntington Beach News to proceed with setting type for new ordinance books. Palladino Deed. Attorney Blodget submitted a deed to a portion of lots 1,3,5 Block 301,Huntington Beach Tract from the City to Joe Palladino and wife, and on motion by Harris seconded by Butcher, the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized aid directed to sign same on behalf of the City of Huntington Beach by the following vote: Ayes Councilmen:Butcher,Conrad,Mitchell,Harris,Bowen: Noes, Councilmen, None. 465 Ordinance The Clerk gave ordinance number 330 calling a. special bond 330 election for February 18th, its first reading. Plans for Engineer Rosson informed. the Council that plans and Main St. specifications for the resurfacing; of Main Street and others would be ready at next meeting. Demands On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell , demands numbered 2240 to 2355 were approved and. ordered paid. Conrad °ranted On motion by Mitchell seconded. by Butcher , Councilman- Conrad leave of absence was granted a 30 day leave of absence beginning Saturday Ja.n 11 ,1930.
