City Hall , Jan 13th, 1930
Pursuant to adjournment of Ja.n 6th , the Council was called
to order at 7: 30 pm by Mayor Bowen;
Councilmen present; Bowen,Butcher ,A�litc'nell ,Ha.rris
Councilmen absent; Conrad .
AlTrees Engineer Rosson reported that Orange

streets had been investigated and that he did not recommend. the
City assuming the expense. Mayor Bolven appointed. Mitchell and.
Vutcher as a committee to investigate further and advise at next
meeting.
The Clerk read a letter from Engineer Rosson stating that he
had employed Air W P Treece to demolish dangerous derricks at the
Demolish following prices ; contract labor , Young & Lundberg derrick located.
derricks at 14th and. Walnut for the sum of $160. 00.
Taylor and. Tucker derrick located at llth and Acacia. for the sum
of� $180. 00.
On motion by Harris seconded by Butcher the chai±,was
Junk license authorized. to appoint a, committee of three to investigate conditions
held over at the Max Schenfield. junk Yard on Main Street , and recommend whether
or not license should be renewed. The Chair appointed Harris ,
Butcher and. Mitchell on the committee.
Restaurant On motion by Harris seconded. by B-atcher the a.pplication of
license Alice E. Forrest to conduct restaurant at 104 Main St was approved..
The Clerk read a letter from Russell Sutherlin Co , Board of
Pier Bond Trade Bldg, Los Angeles , in which an offer was made to purchase
purchase pier bonds at Par , %c bonds , and to furnish legal advise and
prepare papers and. bonds . No action was taken by the Council.

Ord. 330 The Clerk gave Ordinance No 330 , pier bond election/second
Pier Bond. reading, and. on motion by Mitchell seconded by Butcher ordinance
Election No 330 was passed and adopted by the following vote;
Ayes Councilmen; Butcher , Mitchell , Harris , Bo!rren.
Noes Councilmen; None
Absent Councilman; Conra.d.
City Attorney Blodget, on behalf of the American Legion Pott,
Legion Plaque presented the City Council with a nlaaue as a token of appreciation
for the City' s assistance in making the November llth Armistice
Day Celebration a, success. Mayor Bowen made a short talk in response.
IMlitchell on The Chair appointed Councilman Mitchell on the Finance
Finance Corr. Committee in the absence of Councilman Conrad.
On motion by Harris seconded by Butcher demands numbered.
Demands 2356 and 2357 -ere approved and ordered paid.
Engineer Rosson submitted plans , profiles , cross sections
Plans , Vain and specifications for the resurfacing of rain St , 17th St , Delaware
17 th & others Ave , and parts of Acacia, Alabama and Frankfort Avenues , and on
repair of motion by Butcher seconded. by Mitchell same were approved and ad.opted..
Oft notion by Butcher seconded by Mitchell the Clerk was
Adv. for bids directed to advertise for bids for the resurfacing of Main and 17th
St and others , bids to be opened at 7: 70 pm Monday Jan. 27th, 1030,
waste water Engineer Rosson said that no location had been secured for the
central plant of the proposed waste water system.
On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell the Council
adjourned until 7: 30 pm Monday Jan 27th, 1930.
