On .-motion by Mitchell seconded by Butch ET all bids Were � referred to the City Engineer for analysis and further action deferred until 7; 30 Pm Monday Feb 3rd, 1930 The Clerk read a letter signed by J ff Culver and D 0 Stewart Base Ball asking that the city contribute $25.00 toward expense of base ball -team. Referred to Harris , Mitchell and Butcher. The matter of financial assistance asked for by the night base ball club -was deferred until next meeting, and Engineer Indoor Ball Rosson was appointed on committee to serve with Harris ,Mitchell and Butcher. Engineer Rosson' s request for permission to start action to Damage to compel H R Bolton to repair lamp post damaged during Armistice Day lamp post was referred to-City Attorney Blodget. The Clerk read a letter from Atty. Harry M Walters ,703 Market Re—Gaso . tax 5.:1. San Francisco , asking permission to use his influence in the collection of gasoline tax for the city on-.a 50-50 basis . The Clerk was directed to advise Mr Walters that this City feels that such action should be started by the larger cities. On motion by Butcher seconded by Harris the surety bonds of Treasurers Joseph Vavra, City Treasurer and Western Oil and Refining Co, 1 Bond electrical contractors were approved and ordered filed. A letter and report from the Orange County Tuberculosis Association was ordered filed. Police force On motion by Harris seconded by Butcher the chief of Police reduced. request to reduce the force one patrolman was granted and the Clerk directed to prepare warrant for 24 days in favor of retiring patrolman Ire. C St-out. Tatter of approving license for Max Schenfield- junk dealer. i :i,a.s defe-rred. to later date. Matter of removing trees at the request of C J Andrews was deferred to next meeting.
