HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-02-03 469 Ito I N U T E S City Hall , Feb 3rd, 1930 The regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Bowen at 7: 30 P14. Councilmen present: Bowen, Butcher , Conrad, Mitchell , Harris. On motion by Harris seconded by Conrad, the minutes for the mohth of January were approved and accepted. The following motion by Harris "That the bid of V R Dennison Construction Company under Alternate No 1 for the improve-ment of Main Street, 17tn Street , Delaware Avenue and others for the sut-ii Paving contract of $54,635.00 be accepted and all other bids be rejected' Motion let seconded by Conrad, put and carried by the following vote: Ayes Councilmen: Butcher, Conrad, Mitchell, Harris , Bowen Noes Councilmen None Absent Councilmen None The City Attorney and City Clerk were directed to prepare Contract contract for doing the work as -Qer plans and specifications now on file in the office of the City Engineer, The Clerk read an application of Max Shenfield of the Huntington Beach Junk Yard to conduct Junk yard at or near -the Junk yard intersection of .Alabama and Atlantic streets and on motion 'by Harris seconded by Mitchell same was approved. On motion by Mitchell seconded by Butcher the City Engineer , C J Andrews was authorized to cut roots of trees in parking along Orange Ave trees between 5th and 6th streets , southeasterly side , so as to prevent roots from damaging adjoining property. Base ball No report on request of base ball team for funds. Night base ball No report on -request of night base ball club for funds. Derrickā€¢ liceizse Letter of Standard Pipe and Supply Company and Oil Tool Exchange Company relative to cancellation of license referred to City Engineer for report next meeting. The Clerk read monthly -reports of Police Chief , City Judge, Reports City Engineer, City Clerk and Treasurer for the month of January and -on motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell same were accepted and ordered filed. On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell the Surety bond of i Gracec:M Brose was accepted and ordered filed. Palladino Matter of title to portion of lots 1 ,3 ,5 Palladino was re- ferred to Attorney Blodget. On motion by Mitchell seconded by Harris ,. demands numbered 2358 to 245E were approved and ordered paid.
