HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-02-10 470 M I N U T E S City Hall, Feb loth, 1930 Pursuant to adjournment of Feb. 3rd the Council was called to order at .7:30 p m by Mayor Bowen; Councilmen present: Bowen,Butcher,Conrad,Mitchell,Harris. Night base Conrad and Harris were added to the special cor;mittee to make ball selection of grounds for night base ball and report their re- -cppmendations at next meeting. Advertising in On motion by Conrad seconded by. Mitchell the Council voted real estate to allow the local real estate board the sum of $35.00 for show advertising expense at. State Real Estate show. Bills On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell, demands approved } by the Finance Committee were -approved and ordered paid. Library On motion by Conrad seconded by Mitchell the appointment by Board Mayor Bowen of Chas P Patton and J Ed Huston to serve on the library board from July 1st 1929 to June 30, 1932 was approved. The Clerk read letters from the Oil Tool Exchange and Derrick license Standard Pipe and Supply Co asking that derrick license on idle derricks be cancelled. No action was taken by the Council other than order that letters be filed. On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell the application of x Carnival J 0 McCartie for license to conduct carnival on the beach front ' was denied. On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher the City controller Ordinance books was authorized to order the Huntington Beach News to print and bind 500 ordinance books. ti V The Council adjourned, on motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher until 7:30 p m Monday February 24th, 1930.
