MINUTES
City -Hall Tuesday April Sth, 1930.

Pursuant to adjournment of April 7th, the Council was called to
order at 7:30 p m.
Councilmen present; Bowen, Butcher, Conrad, Mitchell, Harris.
In the absence of Attorney Blodget, who was confined to his room on
account of sickness, Attorney Ronald Thompson, of Newport Beach, sat with
the Council.
y Pier Boat Attorney Thompson advised the Council that he did not think it
landing necessary to advertise for competitive bidding by applicants for r
exclusive use of the gnunieipal pier boat landing.
On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell, the application of
R M DOCKINS acid C K MORRISON ( jointly) to operate fishing and bait
boats and barge was granted: Provided, that the City Attorney be
directed to draw the ppecial license form or agreement, same to meet '
the approval of the City 'Council and be accepted by the applicants
before final granting of the license.
Mr W A Greer addressed the council relative to conditions at the
Boy. Scouts ' Cabin and asked that the city consider erecting a two
Boy Scouts room apartment adjoining the present building. The Council asked Mr
Greer to prepare and submi-t to the City Engineer at an early date
plans and detailed information for further consideration by the Council.
On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher , the City Attorney was
Camping on directed to draft an ordinance prohibiting closed tenting and camping
y Beach on the beach. Councilman Harris voting No, Councilmen Butcher, Conrad
and Mitchell voting Yes.
Pier Electric The matter of granting license to operate electric tram on the
tram, pier was deferred pending amendment .to Ordinance .No. 130.
Mayor Bowen presented and read the draft of a letter far
publication in 'the Huntington Beach News, setting forth reasons why
Restrictions the ocean front portion of the City from llth Street to the Easterly
City limits should be restricted against oil well drilling, same was
subscribed to by all councilmen.
Demand On motion by Harris seconded by Mitchell demands No. 2714 was
approved and ordered paid.
The Council adjourned until 7:30. p m Monday April 21st, on '
motion by Butcher seconded by Harris.
