HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-05-07 491 M I N U T E S - City Hall Wednesday May 7th, 1930 Pursuant to adjournment of May 5th, the Council was called to order`-at 7:30 p m by Mayor Bowen: Councilmen present: Bowen, Conrad, Stevens , King Councilmen absent : Butcher This being the day and hour set by- the Council for hearing protests against the action- of the Council in passing and adopting Resolution_ No. 631 dated April 21st, entitled "Resolution of the Weeds City Council of Huntington Beach Declaring a Nuisance to Exist and Providing- for the Abatement Thereof" , the Clerk informed the Council that no protests had been received. ----Af ter some discussion concerning oil drilling regulations , the following motion was put: "That •the City Attorney be instructed to Beach Drilling draf',t an:,Ordinance prohibiting the drilling for oil within the districct restrictions a bounded on the northeast by Ocean Avenue, on the southeast by First Street projected southeasterly approximately three miles to the SW City limits , thence northwesterly along the city limits to a point approximately three miles distant from the southwesterly extension of 9th street, thence in a straight line to the intersection of 9th street with Ocean Avenue" Motion seconded by Councilman Stevens , put and carried Plumber On motion by Conrad seconded by Stevens', the Surety bond of B J Bond Miller , plumber was accepted and ordered filed. On motion by Conrad, seconded by King, the City Engineer was Magnolia Avenue directed to replace "Private property signs on Magnolia Ave between 5th and 6th Streets and have the street smoothed. On motion by Conrad seconded by King the City Engineer was dir- Curbing City Hall drives ected to furnish estimate for curbing driveways on city hall grounds. .- There being no further business fhe Council adjourned until Monday May 12th, 7:30 pm, on motion by Conrad seconded by Stevens.
