City Hall , Monday May 12th, 1930

Pursuant to adjournment of May 7th, the Council was called to order.
at 7:30 p m by_ Mayor Bowen.
Councilmen present: Bowen, Butcher, Conrad, Stevens , King.
Councilmen absent : None.
Plumber' s On motion by Conrad, seconded by Butcher, the surety bond of
Bond
WILLIAM HAWKINS, plumber was accepted.
The following license applications were accepted on motion by Conrad
seconded by Butcher:
License
Mrs L. Martin, Boarding house, 190 Ocean Ave
W L Privett, Rooming house, 116 Main St.
Cecyle J Oliver, Lunch room, 416 Ocean Ave.
Engineer Rosson advised the Council that it would cost approximately
Curbing
City Hall $200.00 to install curbing around driveways on city Fall grounds. On
s
motion by Butcher seconded by King the City Engineer was directed to pro-
ceed with the work.
On recommendation of Chief of Police Steward:_: the_. City Attorney was
Traffic directed to draft an amendment to Ordinance 322, _prohibiting "U° turns
signs
and heavy traffic on certain streets. This on motion by Conrad seconded
by Stevens.
The Music and Promotion Committee recommended that the Local Realty
Advertising
Board be allowed $48-00 for advertising in a special number of the State
Real Estate Journal. On motion by Conrad seconded by King the recommendation
was adopted.
Ord 332 At this time the Clerk gave ordinance 32 relative to regulating the
Ord 333 building of oil derricks , and Ordinance 333 restricting beach front
from oil drilling, their first reading. \
On motion by Stevens seconded by King demands approved by the

finance committee were ordered paid.
; Pier reparks Engineer Rosson submitted plans and specifications for repair and
and extension
extension of the municipal pier. On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher,
plans and specifications as submitted by the City Engineer were
approved and adopted and the City Clerk directed to advertise for bids
for doing the work, bids to be opened and examined by the City Council
Monday June 23rd, 1930 at 7:30 o' clock p m.
There being no further business to come before the Council it
adjourned, on motion by King seconded by Butcher.
