City Hall, Monday December 1 th, 1930
Pursuant to adjournment of Dec 3Z;;'."the Council was called to order at
7;30 PM by Mayor Bowen;
Councilmen present; Bowen, Butcher, Conrad, Stevens, King.
Councilmen absent; None
In the matter of Mary E Caldwell hearing relative to derrick on lots

Der 13,14115 Block 813: On motion by King seconded by Conrad the hearing was

.1, continued until Monday January 5th, 7:30 P M, and the Clerk directed to so
notify Mrs Caldwell.
Engineer Rosson informed the Council that derrick located on lots 9,
Derrick lots e, whereupon the 11,13.Block 514, Interocean Oil Co, had not yet been made safe, 9,11,13 Bl 5i4 -
following motion was made by Conrad seconded by Stevens, "It is the deter-
mination of the City Council that derrick located on lots 9,11,13 Block 514,
y as posted constitutes a public nuisance and that sawe is hereby ordered
abated" Motion put and carried by the following vote;
Ayes Councilmen Butcher, Conrad, Stevens, King, Bowen,
Noes Councilmen None '
No one appeared before the Council at this time in reference to the
above matter.
The Clerk
read a letter from Engineer Rosson in which he recommended
Repair Ocean that a

strip along the Northerly side of Ocean Ave from 3rd to Main
Ave.
Street,
and a
similar strip from Main to 5th Street be improved with a 5"
cement
concrete
gutter, and that the work be done in the most economical
iu
manner,
namely
by day labor.
On motion by Conrad, seconded by Stevens the Engi.neer!s recommendations
were approved and accepted and the work ordered done under the supervision
of the Assistant street superintendent Henry Wirth.
End of Main St Engineer Rosson submitted estimate of cost of leveling up embankment at
embankment
the westerly end of Main Street. Same was referred to the Beach and Pier
Committee for report.
The Clerk read contract between the City and John Cusolito granting Mr
Cusolito permission to operate trams over the municipal pier and on motion
Pier Tram
by Conrad seconded by King the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to
execute same in the name of the City.
On motion by Conrad seconded by Stevens the Council voted to allow the

Firemen Firemen $50.00 to assist in Christmas advertising.
On motion by Stevens seconded by King demands approved by the Finance
Committee were ordered paid.
