On motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher the application Superior Oil Co. permit of the Superior Oil Co for renewal of permit to construct gasoline plant was.approved.,. On motion by Conrad seconded by King applications of Derrick permits Republic petroleum Co and Clayton Severn to erect steel derrick were approved. R:es'o 638 On motion by King.seconded by Stevens, Resolution No 638 revoked,," was revoked b3r the following vote; Ayes -Councilmen;; Butcher, Conrad, King, Stevens, Bowen, Noes Councilmen; None The Clerk read mofithly reports of the City Engineer, City Clerk, - Reports Treasurer, Judge and Chief of.police, and on motion by Conrad seconded by Butcher same were accepted and ordered filed. On motion by Butcher seconded by King the Clerk was Tax -Rate directed to advise the California League of Municipalities that the Council favored a bill increasing the ma.xi.mun rate of taxes by cities of the 6th.class to $1.25 instead of $1.00 for General Fund purposes. The request of the City of San Jacinto that the Council pass a resolution condemning the practice of Southern California Milk embargo receiving, shipments of milk from Northern California for the reasontthat competition would be detrimental, was referred to the City Health. Dept, Dr Sutherland. Engineer Rosson submitted a letter informing the Council that he had checked dimensions of city sewage plant land and found same correct as per map and deed on file. The Clerk submitted and.read.Resolution No 639 authorizing Coast Highwaythe purchase of certain land for widening the Coast Highway, and strip on motion by Conrad seconded by Stevens Resolution No 639 was Reso 639 passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Councilmen: Butcher, Conrad, King, Stevens, Bowen. Noes Councilmen; None The City Engineer submitted for approval of the Council Map Su' Division of sub-division,Tract 454, located three miles out of the City. map Tract 454 Same.was referred back to the County planning Commission for r\. 1 1 their approval before being considered by the City Council. Action was deferred in the demolition_ of derrick located on Derrick B1 813 lots 13214,15 Bl 813, until Tuesday AM Feb 3rd. Engineer Rosson repor-ted satisfactory progress by contractor Crest et al in the improvement of Crest Ave and others. Attorney Blodget.informed the Council that he had not yet been advised of date set for beach acquisition hearing. Also that he had Beach acquisition had no reply from Attorney Degnan of the Huntington Beach Company although he had been written to three times. plans for improving pier deck and cafe were laid over until Pier Tuesday Feb. 3rd. On motion by Stevens seconded by King demands approved �)y Demands the Finance Committee were ordered paid.
