City Hall, Monday May 4th, 1931
The regular meeting of the Council was called to order
at 7:30 PM by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present: Butcher, Huston, Stevens, King, Conrad
Councilmen absent : None
This being the date set by the Council for awarding bids
Chairs for furnishing chairs for the Memorial Hall, the following
Motion by King "That all bids be rejected except that of
CLARIN MANUFACTURING CO, and that their bid be accepted to
furnish•400 No 318 Clarin metal folding chairs at the price
of $3.59 each delivered at Huntington Beach" Motion seconded
by Stevens, put and carried unanimously.
This being the date set by the Council for awarding
Card contract for furnishing the City Memorial Hall with 50 card
Tables
tables, the following motion was made by Butcher "That all
bids be rejected except that of Lyon Metal Products, Inc.
and that their bid be accepted to furnish 50 metal folding
card tables Type "B" No 375 Steelart tables at the price of
$8.70",,f.o.b. Huntington Beach" Motion seconded by King, put
and carried unanimously.
This being the date set by the Council for awarding
contract for improvements consisting of five structures on
Pier Impr.
the municipal pier, following motion by Stevens "That it be
the sense of the City Council that the work may be performed
more economically by day labor, and the material or supplies
furnished at a lower price on the open market, therefore all
bids be rejected" Motion seconded by Huston, put and carried
Demands
by the following vote:
Ayes Councilmen: Butcher, Huston, Stevens, King, Conrad
Noes.Councilmen: None
Absent Councilmen: None (See Resolution No 642)
On motion by Stevens seconded. by Huston, demands approved
by the Finance Committee were ordered paid.
The Council adjourned until 7:30 PM Tuesday May 5th on
motion by Butcher seconded by King.
