Councilmen present; Butcher, Huston, Stevens, icing, Conrad, Councilmen absent : None. Recess After some discussion relative to the 1931-32 Budget the Council recessed until 3:30 Pbl- The Council was again called to order at 3:30 PM, August loth, 19311 by Mayor Conrad. All Councilmen present. On motion by Butcher seconded by King, the surety bonds of Bonds A J Young, plumbing contractor and Ed Manning, Plumbing contractor were accepted and ordered. filed. s The Clerk presented and read Resolution No 654 awarding bids �- for the improvement of Crest.Avenue with an ornamental lighting Bids Crest system and on motion by King seconded by Butcher Resolution No 654 was passed and adopted by the following vote; Ayes Councilmen Butcher, Huston, Stevens, King, Conrad., Noes Councilmen None Absent Councilmen None. Ord. #345 The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 345 its first reading as amended. On motion by Butcher seconded by King the Surety Bond of Bond Ocean Ave. Southwest Paving Company was approved and ordered placed on file. The Clerk read a letter signed by Attorney A J Thedieck relative lip- Thedieck to automobile accident K D Fuller. Same was referred to Attorney letter Blodget for investigation and report at next meeting. On motion by Stevens seconded by Huston an amount of $2,000.00 Budget -r was added to the City Controller's Budget for the purpose of pur- chasing a. First Aid Wagon to be used by the Fire Department. The City Controller presented Budget for the year beginning do July 1st, 1931 and ending June 30th, 1932 and on motion by Stevens ".seconded by Butcher same was approved by the Council and ordered k,,placed on file: -� The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for collection Garbage and disposal of the City garbage for a. period of three years com- mencing Sept llth, 1931. Mork to be performed in accordance with contract now on file for doing said work, Bids �o be opened Sept 8th,1931 On motion_ by Butcher seconded by Stevens the City Clerk was First Aid directed to advertise for bids for furnishing the city Fire Department Wagon with a first aid wagon, Type Ford or its equivalent, fully equipped. Bids to be opened Sept 8th, 1931. _ 74 M<nvres IL)uG Leave of. On motion by King, seconded by Butcher the City Clerk absence was granted a 14 days leave of absence commencing Aug llth. For the information of the City Clerk, Attorney M & P Blodget expressed the opinion that accounts 50-D, 51-A and 52 are chargeable to General Fund instead of Music and Promotion. On motion by Butcher seconded by King, Councilman Vacation Huston was granted a. leave of absence from the state for a period of 60 days commencing August l8th. Attorney Blodget-was granted a two -weeks leave do of absence commencing August 15th on motion by Huston seconded by Butcher. On motion by Huston seconded by Stevens, demands Demands approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid. The matter of adjustment of salaried. and the Police Dept number of policemen to be employed the ensuing year was on motion by Stevens seconded by Huston referred to the Police and Fire Committee with power to act and report at next meeting. On motion by Butcher seconded by King, the office of Musical Director Musical Director was declared vacant, and the Clerk directed to so notify Director J. E. Son.
