City Hall, Tuesday Oct. 20t4 1931 �-
Pursuant to adjournment of October 13th, the Counil
was called to order at 10:00 o'clock Am by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present: Conrad, Stevens, Huston, King
Councilmen absent: Butcher
Supt. of Streets Wirth submitted a list of derricks
which he considers dangerous structures, and on motion
Derricks by Stevens seconded by Huston the Supt. of Streets
was directed to notify the owners of record and post
the derricks in accordance with lair, and to proceed
to abate the nuisance if derricks are not immediately
put in a safe condition. Following is a list of
properties affected:
Lots 1-3 Block 621, partly down, sidewalk blocked
14-16 517, Idle, no guy wires
4-6-5 15, Idle, no guy wires
29=27 200• Idle, no guy wires
10-12 519, Idle, no guy wires
20-28 516, Blown down; has never been
cleaned up.
26-25 220, Producing, -only two guy wires
3-4-5- 813, Underpinning very bad shape
2-4- 210, Producing, waste water running
in street
5-7• 616, Idle, no guy wires
1-2 1014, Underpinning dangerous
Supt. Wirth was directed to collect amounts due
Elect. on pier from tenants on the pier for electricity used off
city lines.
Matter of entering float in the Armistice Day Parade
Armistice Day at Santa Ana was referred to the Music X promotion
float
Committee and Chamber of Commerce jointly.
On motion by King seconded by Huston the application
License for license to -operate hotel Palace at 117•k Main St.
was approved.
Resol 657 The Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 657
accepting lease on the golf grounds and. on motion by
King seconded by Stevens same was passed and adopted
by the following vote:
Ayes Huston, Stevens, King, Conrad.
Noes None. '
Absent, Butcher
• In the absence of Councilman Butcher the Mayor
Finance Coma
appointed Councilman Huston on the Finance Committee.
On motion by Huston seconded by King the City
Relief Fund
donated the golf course proceeds for Saturday Oct.
24th for the benefit of needy families.

On motion by King seconded by Stevens, all bids
Police Car
were rejected except the bid of W. D. Young, and his
bid of $961.00 was accepted.

bids for furnishing the City Police Dept. with one
light sedan, the Clerk opened and read the following

On motion by Huston seconded by King all bids were
rejected except that of Main Street Garage and their
bid of $922.00 less $362.00 allowance for used Chevrolet
was accepted..
On motion by Stevens seconded by King, demands
Demands
A approved by the Finance Committee were accepted and
ordered paid..
Damage by Water Co. On motion by King seconded by Huston City Attorney
�' Blodget was requested to write the American States Water

Service.Company and notify them that damage to Wesley Ave.
caused by defective water mains would be charged against
the water company.
Mr. Yost addressed the Council and offered his
services in operating the city asphalt plant for
Alleys
the purpose of paving alleys in the city. No action
taken by the council.
On motion by Stevens.seconded by Huston the Council
adjourned..
