City Hall, Monday, January 4 1932.
The regular meeting of the City Council was called to
order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present; Conrad, Butcher, Huston, Stevens,
King.:
Councilmen absent; None.
Minutes On motion by:Stevens seconded by Butcher minutes for the
month of : December were approved as read:
Reports The Clerk read regular monthly reports of the City Treasurer,
City Clerk, City Judge, Engineer, Superintendent of Streets and

Chief of Police,and on notion by Huston seconded by King same
were approved and ordered filed.
Application for The application of Ira C. Stout for license to conduct card
license
gamee at 310 Walnut Avenue was read by the Clerk. There being
no motion relative to granting or denying the above license Mayor
Conrad asked Councilman Butcher to take the chair whereupon motion
by Conrad seconded by King, the application was denied. Mayor
Conrad then resumed his seat in the chair.
Baseball team The application of D. 0. Stewart for $75.00 to help defray
.expenses of the baseball team was referred to the Music and
Promotion committee.
Horse Shoe Club Assistant engineer Overmyer presented plans and specificationso
building, for alterations of the Horse Shoe Club -building. On motion by Huston
seconded by Butcher same was referred to the Streets and Parks
committee with the request that they confer with members of the
Horse Shoe Club and submit their recommendations at the next
meeting.
Waste water Mr. Caldwell, representing the Huntington Beach Waste
d.isvosal eater Disposal Association, appeared before the Council and
requested that waste water from a well located at 17th and
Blain be turned into the sewer system for a period of thirty
days. On motion by King seconded by Butcher the Engineering
Department was authorized to conduct a series of experiments
with the above nanied ivell and that the experiments be under
the supervision of the Gas and. Sewer Committee.
Meeting of W. R.Osborne, Chairman of the Welfare Committee, invited.
Welfare Committeethe Council to be present at a meeting to be held in the
Chamber of Commerce rooms at 3:00 y.!tiJ. Tuesday, January 5th.

Letter from The Clerk read a letter from the Orange County Farm
Orange Co. Farm Bureau inviting representatives of the City Council to

be present at a meeting to b-e held at 7 :30 P.I. January
14th at the office of the Orange County Farm Bureau
rooms, 221 Court House Annex, Santa Ana, the purpose of
the meeting being to discuss the feasibility of reclaim—
ing sel7age water. The Chair appointed W. R. Osborne to
represent the City at this meeting. _
Attly Blodget informed the Council that thirty days
had. elapsed since the Council's meeting -with the repre—
sentatives of the Huntington Beach Company, Standard Oil
Company and the Pacific Electric Company relative to the
beach acquisition suit. That he had had numerous communi—
catio<ls with the defendants' attorneys and while nothing
definite had been received to date, he was informed by
Attorney Felix that his clients preferred to give the
City a, deed to the property rather than an easement.
This, Attorney Blodget said, was agreeable to hire, the
City Council concurring in Der. Blodget's opinion. Mr.
Blodget expressed the opinion that final papers would be
submitted to the City within the next ten days.
On motion by Stevens seconded by Huston demands
approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid.
The Council adjourned until 10:09 A..M. January
llth on motion by Huston seconded by King.
