HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-02-08116 M h N U T E S City Hall, February 8, 1932. Pursuant to adjournment of February 1st the City Council met and was called to order by the City Clerk. Councilmen present: Butcher, Huston, Stevens, King. Councilmen absent: Mayor Conrad. Mayor pro -tern On motion by -King seconded by Huston Councilman Butcher was. appointed Mayor pro--tem. The Chair appointed Councilman Stevens on -the Finance Committee. Ordinance On motion by King seconded. by Stevens Attorney Blodget was directed to draft an ordinance providing for the disposal of waste water through existing storm drains at 13"-16a`1119 .0"' nd 23dStreets. $300.00 to C. of C. On motion by King seconded by Huston the Council voted,to appropriate for the use of the Chamber of Commerce the sum of $300.00 for advertising purposes. This action a,s taken on account of the Chamber of. Commerce funds being tied up temporarily in the First State Bank. Single parking On motion_ by Stevens seconded by Huston the Street Super - Ocean Ave. intendent was directed to arrange for single parkin; only on the southerly side of Ocean Avenue between the Standard Oil Service Station and 9th.Street, or the westerly limits of the P.E. parking strip lease. Conveniences for Warren Bristol addressed the Council and recommended:that bead parties tables and other, conveniences for beach and picnic parties be provided for as soon as possible. Golf Course Walter Thomason addressed the Council and recommended that nine extra holes beadded. to the Golf Course, it being his belief that this would stimulate play and eventually make the Golf Course a paying proposition. Horse Shoe Club Bldg. Frank Catching thanked. the Council for enlarging the Horse Shoe Club building and invited the Council to attend a Meet to be held Saturday February 20tn.. Water well Councilman King called the attention of the Council to the fact that the American States seater Service Company had only drilled one of the two wells promised some six months ago. The matter was referred to the water committee. Demands Demands approved. by the Finance Committee were ordered paid on motion by Huston seconded.by King.
