Pursuant to adjournment of May 2d, the City Council met
and was called to'order at 10:00 AM by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present: Marion, Huston,"Stevens, King, Conrad.
Councilmen absent : None
Food Sales Stand- On motion by Stevens seconded by King, the application of
Ruth A. Dinsmore to conduct a "Food Sales Stand" at 114 Walnut
Street. was approved.
Oil Derrick - The Clerk read a letter from Robt. It. Hager, 1210 Walnut
menace
Street, stating that an oil derrick close to his residence was
not properly guyed and in his opinion constituted a menace. He
asked that the Council take steps to have the derrick properly
guyed or demolished. Matter referred to the Oil and Industry
Committee for investigation and report at the next meeting.
-� Erection of tent- Reverend M.A.Wood informed the Council that he had secured
:revival
tiieetings permission from the residents in the vicinity of Lots 9 and 10,
Block 1002, Vista. Del Mar, to conduct revival meetings in a tent
at that location. On motion by King seconded by Huston the
building department was authorized to issue permit for the
erection of the tent.
Oon t ra.ot for The Clerk read a new contract between the City of Huntington
passenger boat -
Beach and Clarence K. Morrison permitting Mr. Morrison to operate
passenger boat from municipal pier for a period of three years,
and on motion by Stevens seconded by King, the Mayor and City Clerk
were authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the City of
Huntington Beach. Contract to be effective on and after May 29th, 1932.
Suit- Interocean On motion by King seconded by Marion, City Attorney Overacker
Oil Co. -
was instructed to enlist the services of Attorney S.C.Drumm in the
suit now pending, InterOcean Oil Company vs. City of Huntington
Beach, also that the Mayor be authorized to sign Substitution of
At torncyb; `_in ahe '-above.'=named suit.
Leave of absence- On motion by Huston seconded by Marion, City Clerk Furr
A, was given leave of absence, May llth to 18th inclusive.
Demands - On motion by Stevens seconded by Marion demands approved
by the Finance Committee were ordered paid.

Dance hall for Councilman Huston informed the Council that he
luncheons, etc. -
believed the City could secure the Huntington Beach
Company dance hall located on the beach for the purpose
of public luncheons, concerts, etc., at a cost not to
exceed $20.00 per month. On motion by King seconded
by Marion the Beach and Pier Committee were authorized
to complete negotiations with the Huntington Beach
Company for the use of ;the dance hall for luncheons and
recreational purposes for a period oftib years with
option of renewal, cost not to exceed $20.00 per month.
The Clerk read a passenger boat contract between

passenger - boat- Harry L. Bateson and Gladys V. Alden with the City of
Huntington Beach and on motion by King seconded by Huston,
the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute same
on behalf of the City of Huntington Beach.
On motion by King seconded by Marion the Council
adjourned until 10:00 AM Monday, May 16th.
