Councilmen present; Conrad, Marion, Huston, Stevens, King. Councilmen absent None . Minutes The Clerk presented and read Minutes for the month of May and on motion by Stevens seconded. by King same were approved as read. Monthly reports The Clerk read monthly reports of the City Engineer, Super- intendent of Streets, City Judge, Chief of police, City Clerk and City Treasurer, and on motion by Huston seconded by Marion same were accepted and ordered filed. Request to have The request of Mrs. Etta. McLean to have tree removed from the tree removed front of her property at Seventh and Orange was referred to Henry Wirth. Request cancellation On motion by Stevens seconded by King the request of Harry L. of permit Bateson for cancellation of his permit to operate passenger boats off municipal pler was accepted and the permit was ordered cancelled. Cold Drink Stand The application df Lucille Robeson to construct and operate cold drink stand on pacific Electric Right of Way at 23d Street was laid over pending permission from the Engineering Department of the' Pacific Electric Railway. Motion. for iiew The following motion by King seconded by Huston that Attorney trial dismissed Wettlin be directed to dismiss motion for new trial in the case now Or•d.#372 - lst reading pending in the Superior Court of Orange County, L.W.Blodget vs. City of Huntington Beach, motion put and carried unanimously. The Clerk gave Ordinance #352, amending city license ordinance, its first reading at this time. Ord.44353 - ist The Clerk gave Ordinance #353, amending oil derrick license, its reading first reading at this time. 0100 for American A letter was read from the American Legion requesting that the Lc gion State Convention Council allocate $100.00 to assist in entertaining delegates to the American Legion State Convention to be held at Huntington Beach June 25th and 26th. On motion by Stevens seconded by Marion the request was granted. Demands On motion by Stevens seconded by Marion demands approved by the Finance Committee were ,ordered paid. Action on this Tesolution was deferred until next meeting of the Council. On motion by Huston seconded by Ping the Council adjourned until 10:00 A.M. June 13th.
