HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-06-13t 4 4 M I N U T E S City Hall, Monday June 13th, 1932 Pursuant to adjournment of June 6th the City Council was called to order at 10:00 A.M. by Mayor Conrad. Letter read objecting to char_ -re for -ase Councilmen present;liusten,Stevens,Marion,King,Conrad. Councilmen absent None. The Clerk read a, letter from the parent Teachers' Association of City -Auditor- in which objection was voiced to the proposed resolution creating a $10.00 charge for the use of the City Auditorium. A similar letter was read signed by the Altar Society of the Catholic Church. The Council deferred until June 20th action on Resolution #669 creating a,charge for the use of the Memorial Hall. Stand for Fireworks Bayard Butcher appeared before the Council and asked for permission to construct a small stand on the sidewalk by his store for the purpose of selling fireworks. On motion by King seconded by Huston this matter was referred to the building inspector with p6wer to act. The building inspector was authorized to submit recommendations on similar appli cations . Arthur to have purkl trees removed from the front of their respective properties was referred to the Superintendent of Streets. License to overate On motion by Huston seconded by King the application for 9� vW license to operate a dog and pony show at 3rd and Orange by Robinson Brothers Shows was approved. On motion by King seconded by Marion all further applications I or the removal of trees in p arkings must be signed by the property owners before action is to be taken by the City Council. Wind break at pier Assistant Engineer Overmyer was directed to prepare a sketch and estimate of cost for the construction of a wind break at the foot of Main Street at the municipal pier. Traffic Ordinance The City Attorney was directed to amend the traffic ordinance in I he parking zones to read 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. daily instead of week days only. InterOcean suit City Attorney Overacker informed the Council that the InterOcean suit was set for Friday June 17th. De-mands On motion by Stevens seconded by Marion demands approved by .the Finance Committee were ordered paid. The Council adjo,.rned until 10:00 A.M. June 20th on motion by Kings corded by Huston.
