HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-07-05Al City Hall Monday, July 5, 1932 The regular meeting of the City Council was called. to order at 760 P M. by mayor Conrad. Councilmen present: Conrad, Marion,Huston,Stevens,King. Councilmen absent : None. Monthly re -ports The City Clerk presented and read monthly reports of the City Clerk, City Treasurer, City Engineer, Superintendent of Streets, City Judge, Police and Fire Department and on motion by Stevens seconded by Huston same were accepted and ordered filed. Appiic-at or, for .re_ The applications of True M..Cryder and Jim Ballard for renewal ncwai of poolhallof poolhall license was approved on motion by Huston seconded by "License P4arion.- Library Trustees The Clerk read a letter f xom Librarian Bertha P. Reynolds to appointee the effect that the term of office of Trustees Patton and Elliott expired as of June 30, 1932, whereupon Mayor Conrad informed the Board that he had reappointed C. P. Patton and Raymond Elliott as trustees -of the Library Board for a three year term beginning July 1, 1932. On motion by King seconded by Huston the appoint- ment of the Mayor was approved by the Council. Grdinance354 The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 354, amending City License reading at this time. Ordinance, its first Resolution ��71 The Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 671 accepting joinder in easement Ocean Front and on motion by King seconded by Stevens Resolution No. 671 was passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Marion,Huston,Stevens,King,Conrad. NOES: None . Lease «made covering On remotion by Stevens seconded. by King the Mayor and City Clerk lil�'e—guard bldg. were authorized to effect a lease agreement with D.K.Clapp covering the use of the small building used by the life -guards on the beach front. Ci:eck froma A'triCr. Chief of Police Keller presented the Council With a check for Legion $1,666.66, same being second annual payment of the American Legion on $5,000 rental agreement. Gar,olline plant Mr. Samuel A Crooks of 610 -17th Street appeared before the Council and objected to noise and vibration caused by the 0. C. Fields Gasoline plant opposite his residence on 17th Street. He was informed by the Chair that the Council would endeavor to have the compressor ruffled so as to deaden the noise. :._ 1 1 'r' Y' 1 0 1 —1' V Demands On motion by Stevens seconded by Marion demands approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid.
