M I N U T E S
City Hall, Thursday July 29th, 1932
SPECIAL CALL MEETING
pursuant to written call of Mayor Conrad, the original of
which is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes, the City
Council met at 8:00 o'clock P.M., July 28th,'1932.
Councilmen present: Conrad, Marion, Huston, Stevens, King.
Councilmen absent None.

The Council was called to order at 10:30/P.M. All members
of the Council present.
The Clerk read the Special Call and Mayor Conrad informed
the Council that the meeting was for the purposes outlined in the Call.
Resolution 672 The Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 672 and Exhibit
"A" attached thereto relative to oil well drilling on the tide lands.
Mr.Ward protests Mr. O.G.Ward addressed the Council and said that he spoke
on.behalf of the tax payers of Huntington Beach and that he protested
the signing of the lease referred to above.
Councilman King moved the adoption of Resolution No. 672
which was seconded by Councilman Huston, put and carried by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Marion, Huston,King,06naad.
NOES: Councilman Stevens.
ABSENT: None.
Battleship for
breakwater movement to secure the battleship Utah for breakwater purposes,
notice had been received from the'War Department that the Utah was
not available. Councilman Stevens said that there were other
Mayor Conrad informed the Council jhat in the matter of a
obsolete vessels that might be available and suggested that the
investigation be continued.
There being no further business to come before the Council
the meeting adjourned on motion by Huston seconded by Marion.

Gentlemen:
You are hereby notified that a Special ldeeting
of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is
called for and will be held in the Council Chamber of
the City Hall of said City at the hour of 8a00 o'clock
P . T1I. , Thursday, the 28th day of July, 1932 for the
following purposes:
First: Passing and adopting a Resolution of the City of
Huntington Beach which provides as follows:
a. That Resolution No. 666 be repealed and that I
the oil -and gas lease attached thereto and
marked Exhibit "All be cancelled and terminated.
b. That the City Council authorize and direct the
making and entering into of an oil and gas lease
with the Pacific Exploration Company, Ltd., cov-
ering certain property within said City.
SECOND: Taking steps to acquire the United. States Battle-
ship Utah.
