HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-08-08M I N U T E S BOARD OF EQUALIZATION,Monday Aug 8th, 10:00 AM, 1932 The Board of Equalization met.pursuant to law, and was called to order at 10:00 o'clock AM by Mayor Cpnrad: Members present: Conrad,marion,Huston,Stevens,King Members absent None. The Clerk informed the Board that he had a joint protest against the decision of the Assessor, signed. by ARTHUR MAROWITZ, 115 South Wilton Drive,Los Angeles and J D LONG of Los Angeles, both protesting against a.ssesments covering Lots.7-12 inclusive Block 2201, and lots 6-21 inclusive Block 22Q2 Vista Del Mar Tract Sec 5,Huntington Beach. The Clerk read the written Qbjections refexred to above, and after checking -adjoining property the Council determined that assessments covering these properties were not discriminatory as compared with other similar properties in the vicinity, and that assessments were not excesi.ve. On motion by Huston seconded by Marion the assessments of the City Assessor were sustained and the request of the ovmers denied. There being no further business to come bef ore the Board, it recessed until. 1: 45 PM Aug 8th.. Meeting called to order at 1:45 Phi Aug 8th, all members of the Board present. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF { THE CITY OF HU1j TINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR THE SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1932-1933• 1 WHEREAS, the assessed valuation of; the taxable property of the .City of Huntington Bea'== California, as assessed by the City Assessor and fixed by the Board of Equalization of said City for tine Fiscal year 1932 1933 is $7,9g0,330.00, and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Hunt- ington Beach find that the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation on property of said City as a revenue for various departments of said City for the current fiscal year and to pay bonded and other in- debtedness of said City are .as follows: tot wit; 1.
