M I N U T E S
City Hall, Tuesday Sept.6th, 1932.
The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order
at 7:30 PM by the City Clerk.
Councilmen present: Huston, Stevens, King.
Councilmen absent : Conrad, Marion.
On motion by Huston seconded by Stevens, Councilman King
was appointed Mayor and Chairman pro-tem.
The meeting was then called to order by Mayor pro-tem King.
Councilman Stevens was appointed on the Finance Committee,
by the Mayor for the evening.
Minutes On motion by Stevens seconded by Huston Minutes for the month
of August were approved as read by the Clerk.

Demands Demands approved by the Finance Committee were approved and
ordered paid on motion by Stevens seconded by Huston.
Resolution #679 The Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 679 setting the
tax rate for the Fiscal year 1932-33, and on motion by Huston seconded
by Stevens same was passed and adopted by the following vote:.
AYES: Councilman Huston, Stevens, King.
NOES: Councilmen None
ABSENT: Councilmen Conrad, Marion.
Reports The Clerk presented and read monthly reports of the City Engineer,
Supot of Streets, Treasurer, Clerk, City Judge and Chief of Police, and
on motion by Stevens seconded by Huston same were accepted and ordered
filed.
Unemployed The Clerk read a letter from the Association of Unemployed re-
questing a continuance of the $50.00 per week donation by the City, also
a request that they be authorized to store gasoline in a 50 gallon tank
at 615 Alabama Avenue. Latter matter referred to the Fire Chief for
investigation.
Potatoes for Mr. Harry Stevenson of the Unemployed Association, asked the
needy
�. Council to contribute $50.00 extra for the purchase of potatoes for the
i needy. Matter referred to Mr. Osborn, president of the Chamber of
Commerce, who stated that he would contribute that amount from Chamber
of Commerce funds.
City Treas. request On motion by Huston seconded'by Stevens, the verbal request of
to transfer funds
the City Treasurer to transf er'all funds now in the inactive account to
the active account at the Security First National Bank, was granted.
Memo Hall
The request of the W R C for free use of the Memorial Hall was
referred to the City Clerk to arrange to best advantage.
Motorcycle
Derrick
On motion by Stevens seconded by Huston the Chief of
Police was authorized to purchase new motorcycle for $389.25.
On motion by Huston seconded by Stevens the application
of Mrs. Doll Melne to operate hotel at 2102 Main Street was
granted.
The matter of bad order derrick at Lots 10-12, Block
519 was referred to Attorney Overacker for report next meeting.
On motion by Stevens seconded by Huston the Council
adjourned until 7:30 PM Monday September 19th, 1932.
