City Hall, Monday April loth, 1933.
Pursuant to adjournment of April 3rd the City Council
met and was called to order at 10;00 AM by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present; Huston-, King, Stevens, Conrad..
Councilmen absent Marion.
Santa Ana Basin The City Council was addressed by Mr. E.E.Campbell,

Chairman of the Santa Ana Basin Water Rights Protective
Association. Mr. Campbell went into details relative to
pending legislation for the protection of Santa Ana water
users. Among other things he said that the bill provided a
maximum of 5¢ on each $100 assessed valuation for a period
of five years and a maximum of 2¢ on each ,$100 assessed
valuation thereafter.
Mr. Campbell stated that this money was to cover over-
head expense suchas attorney's fees, surveying and other
necessary court procedure. That the approximate assessed
valuation of the distri!.ot excluding Santa. Ana, Anaheim and
Fullerton would net approximately $56,000.00 per year in taxes.
Mr. Paul Bailey and Attorney Rutan also spoke in favor
of the proposed legislation. No action was taken by the City
Council at this time.
Ord,#36i The Clerk gave Ordinance #361 its first reading at this
time.
Recess At this time the Council recessed.

The Council was again called to order at 1.;:30 PM by
Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present; King, Husto.n, Stevens, Conrad.
Councilmen absent ; Marion.

Gasoline On motion by'I-iuston seconded by Stevens the gasoline
contract
contract for the year beginning April 4th, 1933 and ending
April 3rd, 1934 was awarded to the Standard Oil Company.
The question of legislation relative to conservation of
water in the Santa. Ana. basin was again considered by the
Council and on motion by Huston seconded by Stevens the Council .
voted unanimously not to alter the position already taken in
this matter. 4

.j Rest rooms on plans and specifications as submitted by the Engineering
beach
Department for the construction of rest rooms on the beach
ftont were approved on motion by King seconded by Huston.
Co11e-ction of Upon recommendation of Councilman King, Chairman of the
business
license Finance Committee, the collection of unpaid business license was
referred to the City Attorney :for immediate action. This re-

commendation was approved on motion by Stevens seconded by Huston.
Lerricks Building Inspector Overmyer informed the Council that he had
inspected =st of the derricks ;and had notified the owners of those
needing additional guy -wires. Further report will be made at next
meeting.
Repairing pier Assistant engineer Overmyer reported that the work of tying
& boat landing
the old and new pier together and the matter- of repairing the boat
landing had. been taken care of and that both were now ready for use.
On motion -by Stevens seconded by King, the meeting adjourned
until 10:00 AM, Monday April 17th, 1933•
