M I N U T E S
City Hall, Wednesday May loth, 1933-
Pursuant to adjournment of May 4th, 1933,, the Council met
and was called to order at 10:00 AM by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present: Marion, Huston, Stevens,. King, Conrad.
Councilmen absent ; None.
Res0. The Clerk presented and read Resolution.No. 688, relative
to gasoline tax, and on motion by King seconded by Huston, same
was passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Marion, Huston, Stevens, King, Conrad.
NOES: Councilmen — none.
On motion by Huston seconded by Marion, the application of
Bcer License
A.L.Ober for Class No. 1 License to sell beer at Sea Breeze Auto
Camp grocery store was approved.
Demn nds Demands approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid,
on motion by Stevens seconded by King.

suit The Clerk was directed to notify bonding.company to the
effect that the Chief of Police Keller is being sued for alleged
false arrest.
v.L (:�•rt Attorney Overacker informed the Council that the City Court
could now handle civil cases.
Deli-�que nt On motion by Huston seconded by Marion, the City Attorney..
Licenses
was directed to start civil action to collect delinquent derrick
and business licenses.
Camp ground matter of erecting rest rooms and camp ground facilities
on the beach front was deferred until Thursday,.May 11t1i, 1933-
Mayor Conrad informed those present that the city did not have the
funds for building the necessary buildings, and that in as much
as there seemed to be opposition to leasing the grounds to a non—
resident of 'Huntington Beach, he advised that the Business Men's
Association, Chamber of Commerce and American Legion get together
and submit detailed plans of location, plan of operation and means
of.financing. This was. agreed to by representatives of the above
named organizations.
C) # 7Z The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 363, beer ordinance amendment,
its second and final reading at this time. On motion by King
seconded by Marion, Ordinance No. 363 was passed and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Marion, Huston, Stevens, King, Conrad.
NOES: Councilmen — None,

East "Side Water
Councilman King called attention of the Council to the
effect that the American States Water Company had taken no action
to increase water pressure or furnish more volume on the east side
of the City.
On -motion by King seconded by Marion, the City Clerk was
directed to.,w rite the American States hater Company and demand that
immediate action be taken to better the service.
Pier Lights Councilman Stevens suggested that lighting on the pier be
increased to 50% of capacity. The Superintendent of Streets was
requested to have that number of lights turned on.
Count;Telfere Mr. L.E.Mitcnell appeared before the Council and informed

tnose present that the City might be able to secure some of the
Welfare funds for city improvement if the proper application was
filed. Mr. Mitchell said that it would help both the city and the
workmen as.men were now being sent as far away as San Clemente.
Matter referred to the Engineering Department to draw plans
4 of proposed improvement and file application for funds.with the
County Welfare Department immediately.
On motion by King, seconded by Huston, the Council adjourned
until 10:00 AM Thursday May llth, 1933.
