City Hall, Monday June 5th, 1933.
The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order
at 7:30 PM by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present: Conrad, Huston, Stevens, King.
Councilmen absent : Marion.

of May were approved as read.
� aFdp d[ tiiucLY1+ The applications of Will C. Hopkins and B. H. Dulaney for
position as beach camp manager was referred to the Beach and Pier
Committee.

pier concession for a period of one year commencing April 1st, 1933
was referred to the Beach and Pier committee for recommendation at
next meeting.
The application of E. R. Johnson to operate cafe at 427 Main
Street was approved on motion by King seconded by Stevens.
The application of the partnership J. Bonner and J. Goodlin
to overate tango parlor at beach concessions 1 and 2 was approved,
on motion by Huston seconded by King.
Upon recommendation of Councilman Huston the Street Superin-
tendent was directed to erect a windbreak adjoining the westerly
side of the municipal pier at a cost not to exceed $15.00.. This
on motion by Stevens seconded by Huston.
Demands approved by the Finance Committee were approved and
ordered paid on motion by Stevens seconded by King.
Capt. Smith of Newport Beach addressed the Council and asked
that he be given license to operate fishing barge and boat off the
municipal pier. Mr. Smith was advised to submit written application
and confer with the Beach and Pier committee.
This being the date set by the Council for hearing objections
to the resolution of the Council to abate a nuisance, namely obnoxious
weeds, the Clerk informed the Council that no objections had been
filed and,on motion by King seconded by Stevens, the Superintendent of
Streets was directed to proceed in the usual way to abate the nuisance.
The Council adjourned until 10:00 ida June 9th, 1933.
