Pursuant to adjournment of June 22nd, the City Council met and was called to order by Mayor Conrad at 10;00 AM. Councilmen present; Huston, King, Conrad. Councilmen absent : Marion, Stevens. On motion by Huston seconded by King, the application of Jack Goodlin to or heart game in the tango parlor was approved. Glass 3 u-er The application of the Anaheim Bottling Works for Class 3 license ap o-Vol v ed_ license to wholesale beer was approved, on motion by King seconded by Huston. Application The Clerk read the application of George H. Knauss for the position of City Treasurer. Same was ordered. filed. Est-itila.te for Lyndon Wells submitted an estimate for painting the outside painting city hall subuiit+ed. of the city hall, same was referred to the building committee. Redo. 693 ,+ The Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 693 covering easements across Ocean Avenue between 23rd Street and the westerly city limits. Resolution was referred to the City Attorney for his recommendation. Audit of Trews. On motion by King seconded by Huston the City Clerk was authorized records to employ R.D.Crenshaw and Company, certified public accountants, to audit the treasurer's records and make a set up of the various street bond and assessment issues. Insurance On motion by King seconded by Huston the City Clerk was authorized to communicate with the Compensation Insurance Fund and, if possible, secure insurance protection for the men now being furnished the city by the County Welfare Department. Jili.^.r Pciice Chief of. Police Keller applied to the Council for permission to Patrol organize the Boy Scouts into a Junior Police Patrol. On motion by King seconded by Huston, the request wads granted with the provision that the boys act without compensation from the city and that they be not allowed to make arrests. x,riusemnentc .. On motion by King seconded by Huston, Mr. Steffin was granted for celebrat-lon y. permission through the Chamber of Commerce to erect a ferris wheel and other amusement devices on lots 4 and 5, block 104 to be operated July 3rd, 4th and 5th. At this time the Council recessed until 2;-00 PM. Council again called to order at 2;00 o'clock PM by Mayor Conrad. Councilmen present; Huston, King, Conrad. Councilmen absent Marion, Stevens. ;32 f Reaol is — tjr 10 The City Attorney presented and recommended the adoption of Resolution #693, previously read, and on motion by Huston seconded by King, Resolution #693 was passed and adopted by the following vote:: .-AYES Councilmen Huston, King, Conrad. On motion by King seconded by Huston, the matter of beach va iip appointing a caretaker for the municipal camp on the beach was referred to the Beach and Pier Committee with power to make the appointment of a temporary caretaker with recommend, ations that they appoint a man and wife, the rate of pay to be a total of $4.00 per day. Onion dehydratiug Mr. G. E. Clausen, manager of the C. B. Gentry Chili plant near York+ot�� a Powder Company, 735 Decatur St., Los Angeles, appeared before Hanipsi:i r e the Council and asked permission to operate an onion dehydrating plant near the intersection of Yorktown and Hampshire Avenue. The Council granted its permission prbvi'ded the company would guarantee there would be no objectionable odor on account of the plant. On motion by Huston seconded by King, the Council adjourned.
