Councilmen present; Marion, Huston, King, Conrad. Councilmen absent; Stevens. Minutes On motion by King seconded by Huston the minutes of the City Council for the month of June were approved as read. Gacv:^lint The application of Jas. E. O'Donnell to operate gasoline i3th � p im plant on palm Avenue at 13th Street was referred to the City Council as a committee of the whole. Councilman Stevens arrived at this time, 7:45 PM. All Nu.r'K- A committee from the Huntington Beach Unemployed Association thanked. the Council for allowing the organization to rent parking spaces July 4th. Onion dehy- The Clerk read a letter from Rosa F. Griffith protesting dra.ting plant - against the operation of an onion dehydrating plant on Hampshire Avenue. Mayor Conrad stated that the permission granted to operate the plant was conditioned on the statement of the operators that there would be no objectionable odor, or objection from residents in the vicinity of the plant. Lip*P Bait The Clerk read application of A.E.Brunner for permission to 1T'"J V at operate-live bait boat off the municipal pier and to use the pier landing for loading and unloading passengers. The application was referred to the Beach and Pier Committee with power to act and prepare contract to be submitted to the Council for its approval. Dell nq ent The City Attorney was asked to look into the matter of taxes property deeded to the City and advise if it be possible for the City -to collect oil royalties for use of the City: St, BcndG- The Clerk informed the Council that in order to pay off out- pey e n t standing street bonds and interest on July 2nd, 1933, it would be necessary to overdraw the street cash account for the reason that there was now approximately $30,000.00 delinquency in street assess- ment tax collections. The Clerk recommended the payment in full of all street bonds now due. On motion by Huston seconded by Marion the recommendation was accepted and the City Treasurer was autho- rized to pay all street assessment bond interest and principal in the usual manner. Demands On motion by Marion seconded by King, demands approved by the Finance Committee were approved and ordered paid. The Council adjourned until 9:00 AM, Wednesday July 5th, 1933.
