Pursuant to adjournment of September l8th, the City Council met and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by the City Clerk. Councilmen present: Marion, Stevens, King. Councilmen absent : Conrad. On motion by Marion, seconded by Stevens, Councilman King was appointed chairman pro-tem. A petition signed by a number of residents in the vicinity of Delaware and Frankfort avenues requesting that the Council adopt An ordinance prohibiting the keeping of bees within the city limits was read and referred to the City Attorney to draft the ordinance. The application of Ralph Gustafson to operate a junk yard at 101E - 13tn Street was referred to Councilman Marion. The Clerk read Resolution ##697 calling a special election and, on motion by Marion seconded by Stevens, same was passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen King; Stevens, Marion. NOES: None. ABSENT: Councilman Conrad. On motion by Stevens, seconded by Marion, demands approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid. Councilman Marion called the attention of the Council to the need of bonds for securing the payment of wages in the oil fields. The matter was. ref erred to the City Attorney to investigate and report at neat meeting. House on ;th St-- Building Inspector Overmyer again called the attention of nuisance the Council to a. thouse "on.`'9th.._.Street which was damaged by fire. This matter was referred to the City Attorney to write those Mun. vier �U'iiul �l0ii S.- er disposal plant interested and say that it no action was taken the city would proceed to abate the nuisance. City Engineer Overmyer called the attention of the Council to the condition of the municipal pier and recommended that repairs be made in the near future covering damage done by the March loth earthquake. No action was taken by the Council. City Attorney Overacker was directed to prepare an application to the federal government for the purpose of borrowing money to construct „a sewer disposal plant and to present same to the City Council at their regular meeting October 2nd. Ordinance The Clerk presented and read for the first time 37V Ordinance #310, prohibiting the keeping of bees within the City limits.
