City Hall, Monday October 2d, 1933•
The regular meeting of the City Council was called to
order at 7;30 P M by_Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present; Conrad, Marion, Stevens, King.
Councilmen absent None.
Minutes On motion by Stevens, seconded by King, minutes for the
month of September were approved as read.
Monthly r.eportg The Clerk read monthly reports of the City Treasurer,
City Cld.rk, City Engineer, Superintendent of Streets, Building
Inspector, Chief of Police and City Judge, and on motion by King
seconded by Marion same were accepted and ordered filed.
i)nk swrd The application of Ralph Gustafson to operate junk
yard at 1018 - 13th Street was approved on motion by Marion
seconded by King.
Taxes On motion by King, seconded by Marion, the City Clerk
was authorized and directed to cancel penalty charges outstanding
on property upon which city taxes were paid during the moratorium
period April 20tn to June 20tn, 1933•
au,1t On motion by King, seconded by Marion, the bid of
Belcher and Schacht Company of Long Beach for the installation
of file equipment in the new vault for the sum of $45 -36 was
accepted provided that upon inspection by the City Clerk the
vault door offered by the above named company is satisfactory.
Bond Attorney Overacker informed the Council that he had
not yet prepared an opinion relative to the proposed $5000
bond to insure payment of wages by oil companies.
SPeoer plant Attorney Overacker reported that papers in connection
with proposed government loan for building outfall sewer plant
were being prepared.
On motion by Stevens, seconded by,King, demands

approved by the finance committee were ordered paid.
The City Attorney was instructed to,file a demurrer
in the suit brought by the state and in which the City is

named as a defendant. This on motion by Marion seconded by Stevens.
On motion by Stevens, seconded by Marion, the Council
adjourned until 7;30 P.M
