M I N U T E S
City Hall, Tuesday October 31st, 1933.
pursuant to call of Mayor Conrad, a special meeting of
the City Council was called to order at 3:00 P.M.
Councilmen present: Conrad, Marion, Stevens, King.
Councilmen absent : None.
The Clerk presented and read the Mayor's call for a
special meeting, the original of which is attached hereto and
made a part of these Minutes.
Mayor Conrad then informed the Council that in
accordance with the special call, the Council should proceed
to take some action relative to the case now pending in
which the City et al had been made defendant by the State
of California.

CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL

You are hereby notified that a Special meeting
of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, is
called for the hour of 3:00 o'clock P M, Tuesday October
the 31st,1933, said meeting to be held in the council chamber
of the city hall, for the purpose of instructing the City

and actions brought by the State of California against the
City of Huntington Beach et al in the Huntington Beach
oil fields. -

That in his opinion it was not necessary to take
any action other than that for the protection of the
City's rignts and tnat sucn action could be taken by
City Attorney Overacker in making an appearance and
answer to snow cause.
On motion by King, seconded by Marion, City
Attorney Overacker was instructed to appear in answer
on order to snow cause in action 'people of the State
of California vs Eastman et al" No. 31452 and No. 31453,
Department 3, Superior Court, at the hour of 2:00 P.M.
Friday November 3rd, 1933. Motion put and carried
unanimously.
