City Hall, Monday January 15th, 1934
Pursuant to adjournment of January 2d, the City Council
met and was -called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Conrad.
Councilmen present; Conrad, Marion, Stevens. -
Councilmen absent ; Talbert, King.
Finance Co;:. Mayor Conrad appointed Marion and Stevens on the Finance
Committee.
Caretaker for The Clerk presented and read the application of W C.
beach auto
camn Hopkins for the position of caretaker of the beach auto camp,
either on a percentage basis or on salary. The matter was
referred to the Beach and pier Committee.
Orange Co. On motion by Stevens seconded by Marion, City Attorney

Munici- Ray H. Overacker was named as respresentative of the City to attend

meetings of the Orange County League of Municipalities for the

Advr. in oil The application of the Huntington Beach News for a one
edition of .
P?e-V�Ts page advertisement in the oi.l edition at a cost of $200.00 was
referred to the Music and Promotion Committee.
Baseball lease-- Following motion by Councilman Marion; 'That the Mayor
a-reement
and City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute a lease-
agreernent-witn the Huntington Beach Company, transferring base ball
grounds and equipment from its present location at First Street
and Ocean Avenue to a location on Mansion Avenue beginning at the
intersection of 23rd Street with Mansion Avenue. Size of said
location to be approximately 374 feet by 430 feet." Motion seconded
by Councilman Stevens, put and carried unanimously.
Demands On motion by Stevens seconded by Marion, demands approved
by the Finance Committee were ordered nai'd.
Councilman Marion, chairman of the oil committee, advised
the Council that he had not had time to prepare a report covering
the advisability of licensing boiler firemen.
State of Calif,, Attorney Overacker advised the Council that he had

_8 et al received a copy of the demurrer filed by the State in the action
of 'the State of California vs City of Huntington Beach and others.
On motion by Stevens seconded by M 'on, the Council
adjourned.
