C
City Attorney Overacker reported that a committee had been
appointed by the Orange County League of Municipalities to
investigate cost of meals paid by outside cities for prisoners in
the county jail.
Fire Chief Sargent asked permission to circulate an initiative
petition for the purpose of submitting to the voters the proposition
of placing the fire and police departments under Civil Service regular
tions. The matter was deferred until Monday February 19th to
enable the individual Councilmen to make a study of the proposed
ordinance.
City Engineer Overmyer informed the Council that the C.P.A.
was receiving applications for new propositions.
On motion by King seconded by Stevens, the Council adjourned
until 7:30 P.M. Monday February 19tn, 1934•
