Pursuant to adjournment of April 6th, the City Council met and was called. -to order at 10:30 A.M. by Mayor Talbert. Councilmen present; Talbert, Gores, Stevens, King. Councilmen absent Marion. Demands On motion by Stevens seconded by Gores, demands approved by the Finance Committee on April 6th were approved and ordered paid. -Y At this time, 10;40 A.M., Councilman Marion arrived. Application On motion by King, seconded by Marion, the application of denied Foster and Kleiser to erect sign on Lots 1,2,3 and 4 in Block 109 was referred back to the building inspector with the request that he deny the application due to"the fact that same does not comply with the city ordinance. The matter of Neon sign for the camp ground was deferred to a later date. Lease of City Following motion by Councilman Stevens; "That the Mayor and dump ground fit, for driiiicig City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the 1 x. City a lease -contract leasing to Wm. Loftus, 1422 C.C.Chapipan Bldg., Los Angeles, the 2? acre city dump ground for the purpose of drilling an oil well provided that said lease be executed by all parties before the hour of 7:30 P.M. April 16th and that said lease provide a rental of $100.00 per month and. a 1/6 royalty". Motion seconded by Gores;.put and carried unanimously. The above motion in accordance with recommendation of Council- man Marion, Chairman of the Oil Committee. The City Attorney was directed to prepare proper resolution covering the above named lease. Card tables On motion by Marion seconded by King, the City Attorney was in P001 1:alis instructed to amend city ordinances and provide for allowing pool rooms to conduct card tables. Memo Hall- On motion by Marion seconded by Stevens, City Engineer Overmyer Yo i ndow s was directed to alter windows in memorial hall auditorium so as to provide for better ventilation at a cost not to exceed $35.00.
