City Hall, Tuesday July 3rd, 1934-
Pursuant to adjournment of July
2d, the
Council
met and was
called to order at 12:00 o'clock noon,
Tuesday
July 3d,
1934.
Councilmen present: Marion, Chamness,
Warner,
Tovatt,
Talbert.
Councilmen absent None.
Car for The Clerk presented and read ballots of
the nine
policemen
Police Dep°t.
for their choice of a car for the Police Department, the
result
being as follows:
1934 Oldsmobile 6, two door sedan

vote.

1934 Plymouth 6, four door sedan

vote.
1934 Ford V-8 sedan, four doors
- 1
vote.
1934 Oldsmobile 6, four door sedan

votes.
Councilman Warner stated that he was opposed to th6 purchase
of a car costing as much as that asked for the 1934 Oldsmobile four
door sedan and that he would have to vote against accepting the bid.
He said he believed that a lower priced cgr would serve the purpose
for the Police Department just as well and would result'in a saving
to the City.
Following motion by Marion seconded by Tovatt, that the bid of
H. W Hartley to furnish one new Oldsmobile four door sedan at a total
cost of $1,043.11 be accepted and all other bids be rejected. Motion
put and carried by the following vote:
AYES: Marion, Chamness, Tovatt, Talbert.
NOES: Warner.

Councilman Warner signed the demand under verbal protest.
Demands On motion by Chamness seconded by Talbert, demands approved by
the Finance Committee at their meeting of July 2d, 1934 and July 3d,
1934, were ordered paid.
On motion by Chamness seconded by Warner, the appointment of
Special Officer
V.F.Mohn as special officer commencing July 3d and ending July 15th,
w to serve without pay excepting on July 4th, was approved.
On motion by Warner seconded by Tovatt, the Council adjourned.
