HomeMy WebLinkAbout1934-08-13/$W RE 1 -, Claim of Tom Price denied New set of sewer rods City Attorney Overacker stated that he had received.no further information relative to the claim of Tom Price for injury sustained while walking along the sidewalk in the. oil field and that he recom- mended that the claim be denied. On motion by Marion seconded by Chamness, the claim of Tom Price for damages was denied and the City Attorney directed to so notify the claimant. Motion made by Tovatt seconded by Marion that City Engineer Harry Overmyer be authorized to file membership application with the Pacific Coast Building Official's conference for the purpose of adopting a uniform building code for the City of Huntington Beach. The application to be for ACTIVE PARTICIPATING MEMBERSHIP at a cost of $50.00 per year, motion put and unanimously carried. Mr. Crane of , Crane Company of Santa Ana appeared before the Council with the recommendation that the city purchase a new type of sewer rod. Both Superintendent of Streets Wirth and City Engineer Overmyer recommended the purchase. On motion by Warner seconded by Tovatt, the City Controller was authorized to purchase of Crane Company a set of sewer rods complete with tools for a sum not to exceed $250.00. On motion by Warner seconded by Chamness, the Council adjourned until 7:15 P.M., Monday August 13th, 1934.
