Pursuant to adjournment of August 14th,1934, the City Council met at 7:30 P.M but on account of going into executive session was not called to order until 8:30 P.M by Mayor Talbert. Councilmen present: Marion,Chamness,Warner, Talbert. , Councilmen absent Tovatt.. Blocks 1403e04 Miss Arp of Delaware Avenue addressed the Council relative to the y matter of throwing back into acreage the property subdivision of Blocks 1403 and 1404, East Side Villa Tract. After some discussion,the-.-matter was referred to the Assessor and City Attorney with instructions that they cooperate a J in any way possible to bring about the desired results. Sewage disposal The Clerk read a letter from the Federal Emergency Administration plant of Public Works in which the City was advised that its application for --a federal loan in the amount of $100,000.00 had been granted for the purpose of constructing a sewage disposal plant. The:matter was referred to the committee on sewers for its investigation and report back at next meeting, Monday August 27th. Surety bond On motion'by Marion seconded by Chamness, the surety bond of Harry Mylar and H C.Sanderson, doing business as the Electric Motor Repair Shop, was approved and ordered filed. Ord.#376 The Clerk read Ordinance #376, regulating tort actions and, on motion by Warner seconded by Marion, Ordinance #376 was passed and adopted by the t following vote: AYES: Marion,Chamness,Warner,Talbert. NOES: None. ABSENT: Tovatt. Ord.#378 The Clerk read Ordinance #378, amending Ordinance #280 and, on motion by Marion seconded by Warner,.Ordinanee #378 was passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Marion, Chamness, Warner, Talbert. NOES: None. ABSENT: Tovatt. Fire drill A letter was read from D E Burry, Secretary of the Volunteer Eire Department, asking that they be permitted to meet for.drill practice each Monday night.. This matter was taken under advisement until next meeting of the City Council. Councilman Chamness inquired about the matter of allowing the City Fire trucks to serve the districts outside the city limits. After some discussion, the matter was referred to the City Attorney to investigate and report back what effect allowing the city trucks to go outside the city would have on the City's insurance. Lamp Post On motion by Chamness, seconded by Marion, the request to remove a lamp post in fron of Lots 1 and 2, Block 105, Ocean Avenue was referred to the City Engineer with power to act. Fire zones The matter of determining fire zones to be covered by the new building ordinance was referred to the'Building committee for its recommendations. Tables for Scout On motion by Warner seconded by Marion, Superintendent of Streets y Cabins Wirth was authorized to construct three tables for the scout cabins at a cost not to exceed $15.00,and to make alterations in the lighting 1 of the Horse Shoe Club, cost not to exceed $12.00. Seats for City Engineer Overmyer was directed to furnish an'estimate of the Baseball park cost of 500 portable seats at the baseball grounds.
