City Hall, Monday June 3, 1935
The Clerk appeared at the council chamber at 7:30 P.M.
Councilmen present: Warner and Tovatt.
After a short wait, there being no quorum present, the Clerk
adjourned the meeting until 7:30 P.M. Thursday, June 6th, 1935.

City Hall, Thursday June 6th, 1935.
Pursuant to adjournment of June 3rd, the regular adjourned
meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.
Councilmen present: Chamness, Tovatt, Warner, Talbert.
Councilmen absent Marion.
T.Anutes On motion by Tovatt seconded by Chamness, minutes for the
month of May were approved as read.
The Chair appointed Councilman Tovatt on the Finance Committee
in the absence of Councilman Marion.
Ord.#384- The Clerk presented and read for the second time Ordinance #384,
passed
decreasing the license on derricks and, on motion by Warner seconded
by Tovatt, Ordinance #384 was passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Chamness, Tovatt Warner, Talbert.
NOES: None
= ABSENT: Councilman Marion.
Application
Auction sale- On motion by Warner seconded by Tovatt, the application of
T.R.Canady
T.R.Canady t�,'o,onduct an auction sale at 111 Main Street, May 25th
to June 8th, 1935, was approved.
Application The application of Vencent Dispalatro for license to peddle
fruits and vegetables from house to house was ordered by the Chair to
be laid over for further consideration.
Application- The letter of Richard B. Lloyd, sewage disposal plant engineer,
Consulting
Engineer asking for position as consulting engineer was read and referred to
Councilman Warner for his consideration.
Insurance- On motion by Warner seconded by Tovatt, the City Controller
Beach
was authorized to make application for liability insurance in the
amount of $20,000 - $50,000 covering the beach front.
Insurance- The matter of an insurance policy for A.E.Brunner, operator
Fishing boat
of live bait fishing boat, was referred to Councilman Chamness with
the recommendation that in the event proper insurance policy cannot
be had a suitable bon"d/ might be submitted to the City Council for
its recommendation. G�

Live Bait A letter written by H.W.Funk, Attorney for A.E.Brunner,
Boat
complaining about additional live bait boats being operated
from the pier -was read and ordered filed.
Membership-. On motion by Warner seconded by Chamness, the Council
Calif -Sew.
Corks Ass 'n. appropriated $10.00 to cover membership in the California
C. of C.

Vacation
Sewage Works Association, same to be in the name of the
City Engineer.
The City Clerk presented and read budget request of the
Chamber of Commerce. The matter was referred to the Council
as a whole for further consideration.
Councilman Warner informed the Council that he and City
Engineer Overmyer had investigated sewage disposal plants in some
of the towns near Huntington Beach and recommended that the
Council proceed to secure the services of competent engineers
to design a new plant for Huntington Beach. He'.also recommended
that F S. Currie of the Curry Engineering Company be retained
to prepare and submit plans and specifications and, on motion by
Warner seconded by Chamness, the Council employed F. S. Currie to
Perform the above named work and directed the City Attorney to
prepare the necessary contract to be submitted to the City Council
at its next meeting.
On motion by Chamness seconded by Tovatt, demands approved
by the Finance Committee were ordered paid.
Councilman Chamness made a short report on his.trip to
Sacramento in behalf of the legislation to acquire certain oil
royalties for the City of Huntington Beach and stated that the
meeting with members of the legislature was very satisfactory.
Fire Chief J. K. Sargent asked for and was granted a two
weeks vacation commencing Saturday June 15th.
On motion by Warner seconded by Chamness, the Council
adjourned until 7:30 P.M
