City Hall, Monday March 8th, 1937.
. Pursuant to adjournment of March lst, the City Council met
and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Warner.
_Councilmen
present: Morehouse, Chamness, Henrickson, Warner.
Councilmen absent Talbert (Councilman Talbert arrived at
7.50 p.m.)
Judge Pann -
letter
The Clerk read a letter from Judge Pann asking permission
to conduct Court two days in Santa Ana and to be allowed to employ
Judge Dodge to handle the Huntington Beach office. The request was
granted.
C. of C.-suggests
-stop signals on
The Clerk read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce suggesting
Quincy at Dela.-
that stop signals be installed on Quincy at the intersection of
ware
Delaware. The matter was referred to the Police Chief for investi-
gation`andihis recommendations.
Councilman Talbert
arrives
At this time 7:50 P.M. Councilman Talbert arrived.

Letter from Mrs.
A letter signed by Rosa Griffith was read by the Clerk calling

attention to the disturbance on the water company's line. The

nature of the disturbance was that whenever the oil companies operate
their pumps it causes considerable noise on the lines on her property.
The Clerk was directed to refer her to the Southern California Water
Company.
Application for
On motion by Chamness seconded by Morehouse, the application of
lunch room
approved
Maude Howard to operate lunch room at 302 - 16th Street was approved.
Application
On motion by Henrickson seconded by Morehouse, the application

of Marion Stice to operate cafe ih Sea Breeze camp was approved.
Waive fee on
On motion by Henrickson seconded by Morehouse, the request of
Memo Hall -
Boy scouts
B.M.Honold to waive fee for use of Memorial Hall larch 5th by Troop
No. 1 of Boy Scouts was granted and the Clerk directed to cancel the

charge.
Demands
On motion by Chamness seconded by Talbert, demands approved by the
Finance Committee were ordered paid.
Executive session
At this time, 8:00 P.M., the Council went into executive session.
Council again called to order at 8:20 P.M., all members present.
Water line on
Fire Chief Sargent informed the Council that the Southern Calif -
Delaware
ornia Water Company contemplated installation of a water line along
Delaware between Utica and Indianapolis and that a number of six inch
fire hydrants will be needed in the event the'line is completed. The
matter was referred to the Police and Fire Committee and to Fire Chief
Sargent for further investigation and report bacK at next meeting.
This, on motion by Talbert seconded by Morehouse.

Proposed charter for The City Clerk presented and read a proposed Charter for
City of H B. read
the City of Huntington Beach. During the reading Attorneys
Overacker and Simpson explained matters contained in the
proposed charter to the City Council. Investigation.was
continued until next meeting; of the City Council.
On motion by Talbert seconded by Chamness, the.Council-
adjourned until 7:30 P.M. Monday, March 15th, 1937-
