Assistant Fire Chief Vacation Recess r Mr.Hibler's appointment rescinded I Salary increased c� Guarantee Demands ' ' .. ordered paid C MINUTES City Hall, Saturday June 12th, 1937 Pursuant to adjournment of June 7th, the,City Council met and was called to order at 10:00.A.M. by Mayor Warner. Councilmen present: Morehouse, Chamness, Henrickson, Warner. Councilmen absent : Talbert (Councilman Talbert arrived at 10:05 A.M.) Mr. Roy Webb addressed the.Council regarding liability insurance Y^ carried by the City. Upon motion by Talbert seconded by Henrickson, the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to take out a blanket insurance policy covering the entire operations of the City with the Pacific Indemnity Company; pblicy;ti in the amount of $50, 000 to $100, 000 at a cost of $825.00 per year. Upon motion by Talbert seconded by Henrickson, application of the H.B. Oil Company to use concrete sump at 15th and Ocean was granted providing the sump was not at any time more than two-thirds full. Upon motion by Henrickson seconded by Talbert, the Clerk and Engineer were authorized to purchase an Allis Chalmers No. 8 grader as per bid of Crook Company of April 13th, 1937. On motion by Chamness seconded by Henrickson, the Chief of Police was instructed to employ John Seltzer as relief man for vacation period beginning July lst and at a salary of $135.00 per month. Upon motion by Henrickson seconded by Chamness, Mr. Hibler wp appointed assistant fire chief during the vacation of Fire Chief Sargent. Upon motion by Chamness seconded by Talbert, Fire Chief Sargent was granted a two weeks vacation beginning June 15th, 1937. At this time, 10:30 A.M., the Mayor declared a short recess. Council again called to order at 12:1:5 P.M. All members present. Upon motion by Henrickson seconded by Chamness, it was moved to rescind the appointment of Mr. Hibler as assistant.fire chief and, on motion by Henrickson seconded by Morehouse, Fire Chief Sargent was empowered to appoint an assistant chief during his absence. Upon motion by Talbert seconded by Henrickson, the wages of Art Umpenhour were increased to $135.00 per month, effective June 1st. Upon motion by Talbert seconded by Chamness, guarantee of Foster - Barker Company covering loud speaker installed in Memorial Hall was ordered placed on file and their bill allowed. Upon motion by Talbert seconded by Chamness, bills as approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid. Page 2 - Minutes June 12, 1937. Amendment to Morrison°s A motion by Talbert seconded -by Henrickson that the Mayor Contract and Clerk be authorized to sign amendment to Clarence K. Morrisonts contract was put and carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Chamness, Henrickson, Talbert, Warner. NOES: Councilman Morehouse. ABSENT: Councilmen: None.
