City Hall, Monday, August 30th, 1937.

Pursuant to adjournment of August 27th, the City Council met
and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Warner.
Councilmen present: Warner, Morehouse, Henrickson.
Councilmen absent : Chamness, Talbert (Councilmen Chamness and

The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 400, amendment to license ord-
passed
inance, its second and final reading and,.on motion by Henrickson
seconded by Morehouse, Ordinance No. 400 was passed and adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Morehouse, Henrickson, Warner.

NOES: Councilmen - none

ABSENT: Councilmen Chamness, Talbert.
Contract -
The Clerk read a contract between the City and A. L. Gabriel -
Storm drain
son for the construction of a storm drain along 13th Street and, on
motion by Chamness seconded by Henrickson, the Mayor and City Clerk
were authorized to execute same on behalf of the City.

Resolution
The Clerk read Resolution No. 792 relative to the deposit of

public money and, on motion by.Talbert seconded by Chamness, Reso-

lution No. 782 was passed and adopted.by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Morehouse, Henrickson, Chamness,Talbert, Warner.
NOES:- Councilmen - none
ABSENT:, Councilmen - none.. ..
Odd. #404 revised
The Clerk gave Ordinance No. 404 revised, relating to elections,

its first reading at this time.
C. of C.
The Clerk. read a letter..from the Chamber of Comterce,requesting
that the City install telephone at the end of the pier. The matter
was taken under advisement by the Council.
Application
On motion by Chamness seconded by Henrickson, the application of
denied
Earl F. Ford for license to operate food and drink stand at the inter-
section of Huntington and Atlanta during the celebration September 5th
and 6th was denied.
-� Hartford Accident
On motion by Talbert seconded by Henrickson, the Mayor was

authorized to sign a release to the Hartford Accident and Indemnity
Company, Alpha Beta Food Market and Robert Hosmer on account of

accident to Chief of Polices Buick sedan in consideration of $106.49
paid to the City.
Trim palms
Revise plans
Lake Park bldg.
On motion by Henrickson seconded by Chamness, the Street Super-
intendent was authorized to trim„palm trees along Wesley Avenue and
23rd Street.
On motion by Henrickson seconded by Talbert, the City Engineer
was directed to,revise plans for the construction of a building in
Lake Park and submit.to the Council.

Heavy traffic
Councilm-an,,Morehouse suggested that .some regulations be
placed on heavy traffic along Walnut and other streets of the
City. The matter was referred to the Police Committee to take
up with the Chief of Police and furnish recommendations to the
City Council.
F. E. Bundy
F. E. Bundy addressed the Council and thanked the City for
its action in ordering the enlargement of the 13th Street storm
drain..
Additional man -
On motion by Talbert seconded by Chamness, the matter of
Fire Dept.
an additional man being furnished regularly on the Fire Depart-
ment was referred to the Fire and"Police Committee and the
City Attorney with power to act.
Expenses to Firemen's The Clerk read a letter from D. E. Burry, Volunteer Fire
Convention
Department, requesting $150.00 to cover expense of traveling
of three delegates to the Firemen's Convention at Redding,
California., September 27th to 30th, inclusive. On motion by
Henrickson seconded by Talbert, the request was granted. -
On motion by Chamness seconded by Talbert, the Council
adjourned.
