MINUTES
City Hall, Monday, January 10,193
Pursuant to adjournment of January 3rd, the City Council met and
was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Warner.
Councilmen present: Morehouse,Chamness, Talbert, Henrickson, Warner.
Councilmen absent: None.
Mr. McCallen The Clerk read a letter from M. M. McCallen, past president of
the Chamber of Commerce thanking the Council for its support and
cooperation during the past year.- The letter was received and
ordered filed.
Beach Pavilion
The Clerk read a letter from the Federal Emergency Administration
of Public Works, K. A. Godwin, Acting Regional Director, reading as
follows:
Subcontractors Permission is hereby granted to you to authorize Brunzell &
Jacobsen, principal contractors, to sublet the work described to
the subcontractors listed.

Whereupon the following motion was made by Councilman Chamness:
"That the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach approve and
accept the above named subcontractors and that the City Clerk be
authorized and directed to notify Brunzell & Jacobsen accordingly."
Motion seconded by Councilman Henrickson, put and carried unanimously. •
P.W.Form 151 The Clerk presented and read Federal Emergency Administration of
Public Works form P.W. 151, Affidavit From Employer Appointing
Officer or Employee to Supervise Payment of Employees, Docket No.
1167-DS. Following motion by Councilman Henrickson: "That the City
Clerk, C. R. Furr, is the authorized representative of the City of
Huntington Beach and is charged with the compilation of payrolls of
•
and the distribution of wages to employees of the City of Huntington
Beach on Federal Public Works Docket No. 1167-DS and that the Mayor
be authorized to sign the above named affidavit on behalf of the City
�
of Huntington Beach." Motion seconded by Talbert, put and carried
unanimously.
Demands On motion by Talbert seconded by Chamness, demands approved by the
Finance Committee were ordered paid.

Recess At this time, 7:50 P.M., the Mayor called a short recess to go
into executive session.
Council again called to order at 8:20 P.M. All members present.
McIntyre The Clerk informed the Council that he had checked up with the
units
County Assessor relative to assessing McIntyre units and that it would
not be necessary for the City Attorney to submit a written opinion
governing same.
Ord:prohibi- Councilman Chamness recommended that an ordinance be drafted pro-
ting drinking
on streets hibiting drinking in automobiles and on the streets or other public
places in the City of Huntington Beach. 'The City Attorney was asked
• to prepare the ordinance after having checked into the laws governing
µ same and present to the Council as early as convenient.
Q-) Lake Park
Mayor Warner suggested that a program of work in grading and
•�-=-i beautifying Lake Park be submitted to the WPA for their approval and,
on motion by Talbert seconded by Henrickson, the City Engineer was
asked to prepare such a program and submit to the WPA for their consent
+ and approval.
Tax Del. On motion by Talbert seconded by Henrickson, the City Clerk was
lots
directed to draw a warrant against the City in the amount of $10.00
to cover the expense of clearing tax delinquent lots, same to be made
payable to J. C. Lamb, County Tax Collector.
On motion by Chamness seconded by Henrickson, the Council adjourned
until 7:30 P.M., Monday, January 17th, 1938.
